Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hi Everyone,

Borderline Bassin Contenders will be holding their annual Lake Whatcom Fall Open on Saturday, October 23rd.  Registration will be at 6:15 AM with a drivers meeting shortly after.  We will draw boat numbers once everyone has been registered and blast off at safe light.  Weigh in will be at 3 PM.  Entry fee is $100 per team and $20 big fish option.  If you wish, you can email me your completed entry forms at dparnicky@gmail.com.  It is perfectly acceptable and preferred however to hand in registration forms on tournament morning. I have attached a copy of the registration form as well as tournament rules to this post.  Feel free to contact me on here if you have any questions or concerns.  I hope to see you there!  It should be a fun day on a great lake!

**Note**  I have tested our club's scale on weights and it is ACCURATE.  In order to speed up the weigh in process, each team is entitled to only ONE re-weigh.  If you ask for a re-weigh, I encourage that you deem it necessary as you will be forced to take the second weight regardless of whether it is higher or lower than your original weight.  This is the only way to keep things moving along and orderly at weigh in.  I don't want to hear any whining! :)

Did you not know the lake is off limits 5 days prior to the tournament, which includes yesterday?

I'm looking for a partner for the open. My usual partner has some family obligations. I was going to sit this one out, but went out yesterday and scored heavily, so I'm motivated! For those of you who haven't been out lately, two of the docks are still busted up, so only two ramps are usable.
Go get 'em, Brandon! I guarantee a two month hiatus won't slow you down a bit.

Thanks again for teaching me so much about Fall smallmouth when I was getting into bass fishing. I learned a lot from you and I appreciate it very much. You are a great angler and great guy.

Sorry I will be out of town and not able to come support the club. Have an extra cerveza for me after weigh in!

Looking forward to it myself! I have not been out there for at least two months but the fishing should be good. Looking forward to a beer with the guys after as well. See you all Saturday morning.
Man, I hate to say this because I really want to see you there Joe but Nick is right. The rules clearly state that the lake is off limits 5 days prior. This off limits period is from Monday October 18th through Friday October 22nd. :(

Thanks for the vote of confidence Tag. I wish you were fishing with us, its always an exciting day when you and Ron get together and show us how its done. It looks like there should be several good paterns going and some nice limits. If all goes well for Billy and I we should be able to scrape up 15# or so but I really dont think that will be enough. Hopefully the winner buys first round at the bar, if it is us you know we will.
Did you know your boat looks like a bumble bee?

Ya thanks! I bought it from the "Lake Whatcom Master" with a trail of GULP! coming out the back, it should lure them right?
>

Bill and I are excited to fish on Saturday even though its suppose to be blowing up to 30+ and raining... And to just BS with everyone and meet some new people.

There are going to be a lot of good anglers showing up, don't let Jordan fool you, he'll catch them good and be tough to beat! And Brandon will too! And Parnicky... Maybe I should just stay home...

Wish I could join in on the beers and food and BS afterwords but is there going to be enough room to park trucks with boats and anywhere to go that will be playing the UFC fights?

The Gulp is for marinating your King Craws for a few days prior to use. Yes, I may have spilled a little here and there.....

I'll volunteer to help w/check-in. I honestly thought I was within the rules. I'm truly embarrassed by this.

After re-reading your post, I guess the correct answer would be yes, I did not know.

No need to be embarrased Joe! Misunderstandings happen! Thanks for offering to help with check in!! I need all the help I can get! I appreciate your understanding and feel really bad about the whole deal! It's not a Whatcom Open without Joe Boyd there! See you on Saturday!

I think anywhere that is not downtown should have ample parking. That is why I was thinking the Barkley Village area. The Quarterback pub in sehome village might be another option. I'm not sure where the UFC fight would be on. I think Bob's in Barkley is a solid choice though as far as a place for everyone to hang out, eat good food in rediculous portions, drink a few beers, bs, and watch whatever games are on at the time. I'm up for whatever the majority decides though.
