Very true, seriously I know for a fact guys do "poach" spots but usually day in and day out those are the guys you never have to worry about. If you found a spot it is most likely that there are other guys that know the spot as well. The thing is anyone can find a good looking spot, making that spot productive is another.

In fairness to some of the boats on the area in question, with today's mapping software, side imaging, etc. it does not take good anglers long to find productive areas, especially if they are proficient with their electronics. Just because people were on a spot that was productive for someone in a previous tournament, doesn't mean they poached it or went there because they heard someone won there.

I knew eventually that this area would be located by other good anglers and congratulated them on figuring the area out. Just like Tag said, they took information and spent a considerable time to locate and figure out what I had been fishing for the the past 5 years. It's part of fishing, and now I have to go out and find other good area's.
I can't count the times guys would come off the rip rap on the hiway and come out to see what I was fishing. They would spend 15 minutes graphing around, go out to the hump and graph around and never really figure it out. Fish for a few minutes and then leave. These are guys like Ron said, you don't really have to worry about.
This is all part of tourney fishing in my mind and if I want' to continue to be sucessful I have to go out and find other good areas that can produce fish that would win this tourney. It is obvious that the guy who caught 29+ lbs had a great area that produced the kind of fish you need to win. Will that area produce all the time year in and year out? Will some of the guys who fished my area, continue to fish it year in and year out? These are all the things that I will have to adjust to in the future for this particular event.
