Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Finding myself newly single, I'm ready to go on the fishing adventure of a lifetime.  At least a good one anyway.  I'm not really sure where to start looking, as I'm not one to really go on guided trips.  I've considered Lake El Salto, Clear Lake, Lake Erie, or maybe something on the saltwater, or even a steelhead adventure somewhere.  I was hoping some of you guys might have ideas, suggestions, and hopefully some specific guides or guide companies that you recommend.  Time of year would be good to know too.  Money isn't necessarily an issue.  Help me out!

Jim,

Can you recommend a resort or contact person I could call for more information.

My daughter surprised my wife and me, with a week of vacation with them in Mazatlan this spring.

We are going to be there a week, so if they have day trips available that would be great.

Thanks,....Gary

El Salto will be a trip you will remember forever.  And you can fish saltwater for a day or so at Mazatlon.  I go every other year, and won't stop till I drop.  There is a group of WA anglers leaving in late February.  Call Al Seibert up if you would like to be included in the group and see if he can fit you in.

Talk with Steve Hasting about his trip to Mexico (I think El Salto).  They caught a lot of big largemouth and had margaritas and chips/salsa waiting for them when they came in for their afternoon siesta/massage hour...I hope to get down there some time!

I think it would be a lot of fun to take a trip back East and fish as a co-angler on the FLW Tour.  There's a tournament on Champlain this Fall I was thinking about.  You could get a good fishing trip in on a new lake, have a "pro" as a guide, and write it off since it's a tournament.  That sounds like a win/win.

Ben I was just at Lake Fork yesterday and the water is about 3 1/2 foot below full pool and fishing a bit tuff right now. I did get three fish on a jig in less then 20 min and my friends that live there got one fish each with the biggest fish weighing in at 7lbs. Lake Fork will turn on in Feb thru april just like Jeff said. Between now and the end of the middle of march is the chance to get a fish of a life time. If you were getting a guide I would go with

http://www.officiallakeforktrophybass.com/ both I would recommend but you need to book now and now might be a bit late for these guys. It will cost you around $375-400 for a day.

Gary, both you and Ben can call Al Seibert @ 509/969-2401 and he can help you with your requests.  He is an expediter for El Salto Lodge which along with being the premier bass lodge on the lake,  has saltwater excursions available.  Nice thing about the saltwater fishing is if you have your bass gear with you, you can try for Roosterfish.  UmmmmmUmmm Tasty and a superhard fighter to boot! As you can see Dorado and Jack Crevalle are also available although I wouldn't try the Dorado on my bass gear.
