Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I'll probably be braving it out on Sammamish on Sunday, hopefully not fishing in chocolate milk this time. Anyone else planning on heading out? Looks like the weather is going to cooperate.

fished wa today from 8:30-2:30. got five fish, 3 smallies and 2 trout. also missed three other solid bites. water looks good north of pleasure point in the east channel and north of at least I-90 in the west channel. fish came from between 35-45ft.

We launched out of Kenmore. Motor problems should have kept us on shore, but...
Got motor started and decided to keep it within a couple miles of the slough. I threw a carolina rig for the first time most of the day.
When we figured it was time to move, the motor would not stay running when put in gear. Spent the next couple hours using the tm to keep us heading towards home as my partner fiddled with motor,to no avail. At this point we just figured that if the wind didnt pick up we could make it back on the battery. Sure it would take a lot longer but we would make it. As we lazily come around the point, both of us are dragging dropshot rigs. The depth is a guess as the ff was no longer in use due to the main motor battery being dead, so I'm guessing 25'. I get a definite take and set the hook. This is one big fish and as it breaks the surface 30' from the boat I thought for sure it was the biggest smallie I had ever seen. This is based on me only seeing the dorsal and tail. As this fish comes closer I see it is a huge trout. I dont know if there are any steelhead in LW or not but this thing was a definite look alike. As this thing is almost within my reach the line snapped and the fish just slowly swam down and away. The whole thing took less than a minute. The only fish we saw all day.
We were able to wave down a guy that towed us to the mouth of the slough. Thanks Terry, you saved the day!
Great day on the water.
So went out Thursday and had a decent day, I got 3 rev rigging. Ranging from 1lb14oz to 3lb's. They all came north of 520 out of 48 to 55ft. Managed to bust my trailer axle when leaving, needless to say, what a fiasco getting it towed, and then down to American Frame and Trailer in Kent on Friday. The guys at American did an outstanding job on getting her fixed and was able to go back out today and get two more and had one come off. Seen alot of fish on the graph in 41 to 44ft today once the sun came out.

CB...I was on the lake Jan 2 so I know what you mean about ice and water temp. Water temp was up yesTURDay to almost 43 in places and the ice is now gone...for now.

Two other bass boats on the lake, neither wanted to talk...one Skeeter hoggin' my fav spot aaaaaalllllll day looooonnnngggg. No fish in my boat but plenty of perch bites. Had two good hits in the 30-35' range, as Tag says...fag draggin'. Marked plenty of fish but they weren't interested in my offerings. Probably go out before this next weather change, maybe that'll change my luck.
