Some times they can be upgraded for a price for a price depending on the type of certificate it is. You not only get to pick the colors you usually get to pick everything else as well, electronics, and extras again for an upgrade charge, they usually all come with base electronics batteries and trolling motor.

A few years ago, my dad bought the certificate from Lehrman and Hogue after they won the ABA Championship . He had the option to upgrade the motors and electronics and I THINK he could upgrade to a bigger boat as well if he wanted. It is a pretty neat deal....

The state team won for winning divisionals as a team.

I take it the proceeds from the sale of the boat get split among the state team guys?

No not exacly Here is what happens with the proceeds of the boat. The state is reimbursed from the expenses they put out for divisionsl, the money they had to put up to get into the option pots, the 6 people they have to send to Florida with airfare hotel and food. After that there is not alot left over. The little bit that is left will go to help get the next state team to Arizona next April. The anglers that fished this year were paid before the tournament started so they got there money up front if they won anything or not.

That's still pretty cool, though. I didn't realize the state paid for the trips. $18k is a really good deal.
