Moses lake Question

I was out pre-fishing Moses all weekend. I ran up North because I had never been up in that area. The farther north I drove, the more clumps of crud I saw. While fishing I could see mud clumps floating up to the surface, coming up from the bottom. At times I could always see at least one clump floating up. What the hecks the deal ? The North end will likely get pretty murky when those clumps break apart from all the boat traffic or wind I'd imagine. Is this normal for the lake ??

Chris, call Scap and Shirley at Transducer Shield and Saver for the price. My jackplate is bigger than yours so it will be different. Their phone number is 334-514-7147. They are fairly pricey because they are hand machined out of aircraft aluminum, and take a lot of labor; but they are worth every penny. Tell them I said hello.

The Terrell fish all came on 5" money minnows in the Trout pattern on a 1/16th oz. weighted Falcon Lures hook. I know most wouldn't consider these "swimbaits" but the fish wouldn't commit to anything bigger that day. It was amazing how aggressive that bait made them though. The water was 45 degrees all day and 4 out of 5 strikes about ripped the rod out of my hands! One even came up and took it off the surface at the end of a cast! I have never seen anything like that in water that cold!

Chris,
I was sponsored by Black Angel Jigs, but was unhappy with their customer service, so I dropped myself from their prostaff. They do make a good jig, and I used them exclusively last year, and did very very well. My hot colors were woodland camo "which i don't think they make anymore", cow pie, and mardi gras blue. I didn't experience any problems with my trailers getting tore up. I use netbait paca chunks, and sweet beavers for my trailers. They may have modified there jigs since last year. I have a friend who just got an order from them, so I will see if they have modified them compared to last years jigs. I now hand-tie all my jigs, much like Ron Hobbs does. I feel it's the only way to get ahead of the competition, by giving the fish something they have never seen before.
