hey guys me again :) lol we'll be headed back to american thrusdy, hopefully wit ha lil better luck this time, where do you think we should look to catch some smallies or largies? as last time all we got were rock bass

I was thinking of throwing a tube? or has anyone had luck there with a spinnerbait?

thanks, David

David ,

I would suggest chunking TopWater baits for  at least the first hour on lake !! Any walking style baits like Spooks , sammys , LC gunfish , etc  ... Target you cast around docks , and on the edges of weedlines , You will not regret it bro :)

If its a bluebird day during the week I would go somewhere other than American, in my opinion it is one is the toughest lakes under those conditions. I have spent more time on that lake than any other around here and you need wind, clouds or lots of boat traffic to agitate the fish in that lake. Since I started fishing it only from late October until the spawn I have reduced my frustration greatly. I really think the better fish key on the Kokanee and perch on that lake and have had a little success in catching them suspended around schools of Kokanee at times. The rock bass have taken over and make dock fishing almost unbearable, that being said, there was a nice largemouth caught during the warrior event as mentioned above. Look for offshore structure and start there.

I was by the VA when the picture was taken.

ciao,
Marc

Here is an 8.10 pound largemouth that was caught last Saturday at the "Take A Warrior Fishing" day. Steve Hastings put SPC Robert Parrish on this Mama Pesce, dropshotting with a Yamamoto worm and 3/16 oz QuickDrops dropshot weight, and 6lb test!

Bass can be hard to catch there, but there are some real good largmouths and smallmouths.
