I've caught a few fish on Huddlestons which are similar. They are effective baits for sure but personally I am a bigger fan of hard baits and trebles everywhere due to my often poor execution.
i usually throw senkos, cranks, and spinnerbaits. But this year im looking for lunkers talking 5 plus pounds. the thing that scares me about buying this bait is loosing it lol. casting a $30 lure along weed beds and stumps your going to loose lures. anyone ever had luck with like the storm swimbaits something more into my price range. i would feel timid throwing a lure thats more than my rod.
I've caught lots of good fish on cranks, senkos and spinnerbaits! 5lb-6lb+. My moto is "stick with what you catch fish on, the big ones will come" In other words, dont make it harder than it is. At the same time theres nothing wrong with wanting to experiment with new baits..

Or you can look into softer swimbaits like WCCT Western Swimmers for the bigger bass
Only 10 dollars
Or other soft bait swimbaits.
But i caught a 7lb largie on a dropshot last year and over ten on senkos and small texas rigs?
How big of lakes are you fishing?
its a smaller lake i caught my biggest fish last year on a 5'' pumpkin seed senko it went 7.4. But im setting the bar high this year yeah i can probably catch more fish sticking with the senko or a spinnerbait but im looking for bigger fish.
You're gonna lose baits here and there - its the nature of the game. Losing a $30 hudd isn't even a blip on many people's radar anymore - thats a cheap bait to lose lol. Before buying a lot of baits, do yourself a favor and buy a big plug knocker and a long-handled lure retriever and that'll save a lot of $ and heartbreak from potential loss of baits. If you're chucking a big bait and you fish it weak because you are scared of losing it, then you are taking away a lot of potential bites and fish.

"Swimbaits" like basstrix, WCCT, TW swimmers are not really analogous to big baits like huddlestons and AC casitas in the kind of fish they catch, the water they move and the drawing power they have imo. (dont get me wrong i fish that TW swimmer like its my job now but its not the same)

I blame a big treble that buried itself in my left calf for my current and future mishaps on hooksets and whatever else.

its reary heavy. ive only thrown it a handful of times just cuz of the weight issue.
ROR @ often poor execution
In the smaller lakes especially i have had my best luck on the smaller baits
I have thrown the big 12in worms and caught 4lbers but i seem to get the bigger fish on the smaller baits like 4-6in worms
