Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

The skill thread kind of piqued my curiosity as to what drives the anglers on this site to choose which manufacturer's boat they are going to or have already purchased. I myself am in the market for my first boat and have some ideas what I want and what I can feasibly afford. As of now, my 9' pontoon causes little wake so I can haul ass through most marinas but runnin and gunnin is out of the question.

Jeff Is the man. Some of the best customer service I have seen. I think Linda Colt from Lowrance may have him by a small margin though.

I second Eric's post to the word.
By Hobb's standards- marginal, by the Dream Team of Sessler/Reimers standards- we are pros.

How do the occupants fish?

While I have not tested a ton boats like many of you have over the years, I was in a position to purchase a new boat 1.5 years ago. As Skeeter owner, I was a little biased but I looked at Ranger, Triton, Skeeter and would've selected any of them. I will say this- the dealer weighed heavily on my decision- parts, service, support just to name a few. I ended up purchasing a Skeeter I Class 20 footer w/ a Yamaha HPDI 250. For me, the boat fishes well, it's not too fancy with nooks and crannies that make many boats difficult to clean, it has a ton of storage space, easy to access the battery compartment, handles rough water well but the front end can get a little light, and a new twist for me was to keep the 2nd console, but not have it installed. I would recommend this to everyone getting a new boat. The deck space is amazing. If your partner complains, tell them to put a helmet on.
OMG I needed a good laugh today. Thank you.

You two "Jack-Offs" are going to have more grudge matches scheduled than days available. You've already tried to get your A** Kicked by the combo of Potter/Grimes. Now you want to tangle with the two headed beast known as Sessler / Reimers?

You need to quit drinking before lunch....

They have a website for the initial browsing, but make sure to call Nixon's. (509)525-2823.
Since we can't argue about who is better (for obvious reasons) you two have sadly resorted to arguing about who is worse.
Mike forgot to point out that I almost won the NW Bass on Potholes. I had a 4lb plus average and at 9:30AM I really felt like I was in the running. Unfortunately I didn't get any more bites except the big giant one that came out of the water trying to grab my jig that was snagged on a willow right on the surface. That thing was probably 10-12 lbs.

Why didnt NW Bass calculate your tremendous effort at Potholes into our team results for the year? Lots of guys fish without their partner but their results are posted as a team total.

Sparky, between seeing boats at tournaments, (other competitors, and "show" boats brought by NIXONS), on line and brochures, i had narrowed it down to what i wanted. Jeff emailed me some pics of a few boats that fit my budget and needs, and after seeing one or two that looked like they might fit what i wanted, i drove over, with my old boat in tow, "just in case". I bought a new boat that day. It was worth the 10 hours on the road, and i have been happy ever since.

To the Guys who have bought from NIXONS...did you just drive down and buy or was it talking, emailing.I know its said and "I HAVE HEARD"customer service there..but hpw do you know when your boat was there...Seems like a long drive to show up and be like nope this isnt it.No way am i saying Nixons is not worth it but what im saying is "HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS THE BOAT FOR YOU"before the trip...Ill drag anyone of you over with me when i think that i got it and gonna buy if ya dont mind the crazy ride..Eric i may be to whiney for you but its ok i understand.TRU-NOTE though i have went to places here and was like nope and it only being a close drive.I know someone will have the info or opinion also on this. Thanks for the guys who put up alot of valuable info it DOES really help the not so informed buyer.
