Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

I am truly frustrated and peeved at BPS. I placed an order on June 1st for baits,a reel and two rods. It is now June 9th and I still have not recieved one of my rods in working condition despite paying for 2 day shipping. First they over charged for shipping. Then one of the rods had a broken front eye. Then they shipped the wrong replacement rod. Next the right replacement rod was sent with a even more severly broken front eye! And they over charged us for that one. So in total I have had to send back 3 different rods and still have not recieved the rod I ordered in working condition. Been on the phone with them like every other day. Spoke with numerous customer service reps and even corporate and still not satisfied. Corporate wants to send us a gift card to keep my business. Probably a $20 gift card. Never have I had this much trouble ordering anything online. I think I would have had better customer service and product care if I woulda ordered from ebay or craigslist. I'm serious. I'm done with BPS. I have been a long time and loyal customer since I could remember but I think TW will get my online business from now on. I know they probably don't care about lossing my business cuz I am just one customer but it is the principal for me. Sorry for the rant and this is more of a blog but I needed to vent.

Man i wish i could buy the stuff i need at local places, i would much much rather buy from the local business, but up here in Marysville there isnt exactly a whole lot of choices. Closest is 3Riv, but thats still like 40 minutes from me, otherwise all my business would be there.

One thing though is i basically have to buy on line since almost everything I buy are swimbaits. Any plastics I just make here at my house, makes it much easier

Hi Ryan,

If you can't or just don't shop at Toys maybe you should give High Mountain Hunting and Fishing a try. They are trying real hard to make it a bass shop and would love to see you come in.

Tackle Warehouse gets all my business.  I'm in East Wenatchee.   I used to buy at Hooked on Toys, but they changed their hours so now I can only make it there on the weekends, when I should be fishing!  Not to mention their markup on all the gear.  I can get a better selection at TW, free shipping or $5 2 day shipping at TW, and usually some free swag from TW with every order.  It's a no brainer for me.

The only time I ever place an order with Cabelas or BPS is when I cannot get the item, or a comparable item at another retailer.  I do enjoy checking out their catalogs though.

I'll have to check them out for bass gear.  I bought my Benelli BEII from them two seasons ago.  I ordered a 26" barrel and I got a 28" barrel, wasnt too big of a deal though, I like the longer barrel and it's lighter than my 26" Winchester SX2.

I honestly dont shop at Toys because their hours are just dumb during the week for anyone who works 8-5.  Not to mention I havent had the best experience with customer support there from anyone except for Aaron who was extremely helpful in getting me setup with my bow a few years ago.

I have a gift card to basspro, I ALMOST used it last night...

They had $5 shipping on orders over $100, i figured Id buy a reel since its on sale there, way over $100,

but couldnt get the shipping to show up as $5 online so called and they wouldnt help either...

Another good tackle retailer to order from is

www.thehookuptackle.com

they have supported numerous wafish events and I seem to get great customer service from them, you can call and talk to one of the owners almost anytime.

Here ya go. This is only a few of them out there that has free shipping and no tax unless its a WA based site.

tacklewarehouse.com

basstackledepot.com

hookeduptackle.com

fishermenswarehouse.com

outdoorproshop.com

histacklebox.com

Good thing about all these is if you order on a minday you will get it on wednesday. And BTD sells my lures, hehe

I second Ron on this one.  The Hookup is a very good site to deal with and they are fast and helpful.  They have some stuff you cannot get at TW as well...
Bps screwed me pretty good. Havent ordered from them in over 4 years and never will again.
I've never had a problem with BPS, tho all it takes is one bad experience to turn someone off. I've ordered from TW, and have been more than pleased with the service.  If I had more options in my neck of the woods as far as buying local, I would. I can't justify the fuel, bridge toll, and time, to go to some of the local (for some) places mentioned. I'll look into some of the others mentioned.
I checked out High Mountain.  They have a good selection of Yamamoto plastics as well as local baits and competitive prices on their rods and reels.  If they can special order stuff in they can expect to see some business from me.
