Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Was out doing some fun fishing and had a spool of Spiderwire I had laying around. I put it on a spinning reel but did not like it ,seemed to stiff. I usually fish Powerpro' but wanted to see if any one had tried the Daiwa Samurai or the Seagar Kanzen line.

I have not tried any of the ones you mentioned accept Power pro which I use in the bigger line classes.  Small spinning reels I prefer either original Fireline Smoke or the old Stren Super Braid. Both handle very well on the reel, Fireline is stiffer to begin with but after a while it handles better than any other line I've tried on a spinning reel IMO.  Suffix and Fireline Tracer braid are the other ones I use on baitcasting reels.

I have used many different braided lines over the years.  PowerPro is a good braid, but am currently using TUF-Line XP for all my braided line applications.  It has all the performance characteristics I am looking for and is a great value price-wise.  I'm pretty sure Limit Out Marine is currently stocking the XP.  Like PJ mentioned, Fireline also handles very well on spinning reels.

I run a lot of Diawa Samurai, and really like it. It is smooth as silk, if you get some, and you normally run 15LB, get the next size up Diawa as it is really thin.

power pro also has a new line out that is called power pro slick 8 I believe.  I spooled some up this winter and have loved it so far for deep smallie fishing

I tied on some seagar kanzen line on one rod and some samurai on the other to compare. If all fails I will go back to powerpro.

Thanks Guys for the info.
