Congratulations on a great year, Johnny! I'm jealous of you landing the National Guard as your sponsor. I gave up my chance to fish the tours because I worked on active duty for the Guard for 23 years, and now that I retired from them I haven't figured out how to get sponsored by them! I don't think any of the pros they sponsor have ever spent a day in a uniform, but I hope I am wrong. Regardless, congratulations on your Clear Lake finish, and AOY standing!

ciao,
Marc
well, you are right that none of the pros are prior service...
I've heard similar comments from individuals around the country...
It would be nice to have a All Guard fishing team but in comparison to other sponsorships... At least the guard has a few co-angler's that actually work for the sponsor. The Guard has 4 total Co's that are Guard members.

Pro's are a different story but I can say for the Western series that they have don a great job!
Most have become pretty close to me over the last couple of years.

I told Ron he could join the Guard and we'd take him! lol
