Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

as you know, ole Pat, typically doesn't get too serious here, but i have a serious question for the "experts" on this site. (aaron - no need to comment)

i have a friend who is populating his pond. she is doing this by cathcing a few fish, from some local lake and transporting them to his pond. we will ignore the illegailty of this as it pertains to this discussion.

the dilemma is this: why is this any different than someone harvesting/eating fish from a lake? either way it negatively affects the population of the lake the fish are being taken from.

you nazis that freak at the thought of someone eating a fish, or in aaron's case catching it off a bed, how can you not be equally outraged by this?

(on second thought go ahead aaron)

btw: i am strictly a catch and release person

Ya either way the fish is still living like Jerry said, I got a great lake to take small ones from, Tapps trust me there are plenty small ones to be caught.
My pond gets checked from time to time to make sure the bass can't escape into salmon streams. In the past they have given me suggestions as to the proper water run off and containment of the fish and have required me to do a few modifications.

To me it is no different.  I like the bass to stay where they are, so they can be caught again AND to reproduce in the area I have access to.

Taking hawgs out of the system is what annoys me.

I don't mind when I see someone keep a fish or two particularly small to medium fish.  What gets me is the bankies on the yakima who bonk every darn fish, and half of them probably don't even have a license.  Its painful to watch.

half is a very kind estimate.
