Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

As I was getting off the lake last night (at 7:30) the Park Ranger informed me that the Launch area's operating hours are from 7am to 7pm. Now I don't know about the rest of you but I do a lot of fishing before and after these hours. I mentioned to her that I like to night fish in the summer and she said no exceptions. She did mention that on tourmanment days she'll unlock the gate at 6:30am if arrangments are made. This is now a County park with no other launches on the lake open to the public. I really don't know who to talk to about the hours of operation but she was mumbling something about cutbacks and layoffs as well. With hours like these I think the congestion at the launch will be brutal as the season wears on. What do you all think?

The gate never used to be locked, just shut! So we would just open it up, and shut it behind us in the morning. We never had a problem. Same with night fishing; it was never locked when we tried to leave, and never had a problem! Those hours sure do stink, taking away both the morning and evening bite...
Yes the state made it easy on us to fish this lake before or after hours. This same situation also is on Lake Stevens but fortunitly for us fishermen their is a public launch in town. Not sure if the County is going to budge on this one. We should make our feelings known to them some how. The Park Ranger hinted it was because of problems they have been having early and late at the launch.

We had a club tournament there a couple weekends ago and the ranger was nice enough to open the gate early for us, but now it is officially locked during the posted hours. It makes it tough to catch the evening bite that will be really getting going as the summer heats up and the weather improves.
wonder what happened?
all we had to do is put a sign in window saying "night fishing" and we were good to go.
all they would say is please shut gate on our way out.
The state went broke and signed over some parks to the counties......Goodwin was one of them. It's now a county park instead of a state park. Thanks to CG (governor)
