Kapowsin.

Yup, I fish it the same as any lake, and the same lures, pretty much.

Top water, flipping, cranks, lots of spinnerbaiting, crankbaits in most parts of the lake. Worms and jigs of course.
Thanks to limited casting range i can't fish it like any other lake i fish from a boat. Do you fish it from the shore at all?
I'm certainly no expert but fish Kapowsin all year long. This year(summer) its was mainly
spinnerbaits, the majority of the time, the spinner would hit a stump and deflect off and continue on. Cranks work well but are harder from the shorline.
If you ever want to get out on the boat, give me a holler.I'm up here a couple times a week in the spring/summer.

Good luck
Kevin
Thanks for the offer. Im going to try and fish this lake after school during that time.. Gonna have to get some more spinning baits.

I might try to use a floatube any one ever try this on this lake?
Thanks for the tips. I also live off 304th and meridian so it will make it easy for me to fish after school.
i have taken my float tube out on Kapowsin and done well. 5" senko rigged weightless and dark colored weedless jigs with curly tailed trailers drove em crazy.
Try swimming a jig, making long parallel or quartering casts to the bank as much as possible. A good swim jig will come through cover really well, and you can work it as you would a spinnerbait without as much worry over losing it. Plus it will give fish a different, more subtle look than a spinnerbait will. I spent alot of time fishing from shore, wading, etc. and I know often the most important consideration is throwing something that will not only catch fish but that you can get back through the cover. 1/4 oz, dark colored (browns, greens, blues, purples, blacks) swim jigs with a 4-5" grub.
Brovarney Baits makes a great swimming jig, or you can make your own...but not just any jig will do.
Don ,

I sat down last night and to read my BassTimes mag . It was really cool to see your picture in there and reading about how you made it to the classic .. Good job man ! and hats off for making it !! very inspirational .. good luck man , kick Bass and take names !!!

White spinnerbaits for sure! I'm sure just about everything will produce but I'm still pretty new on the plastics scene. I've caught a few chunky lmb(weight unknown) with the spinnerbaits...
What made it kinda cool was I pulled up to Erickson's dock to bs and grab a snack for my son.
Tossed off the dock just for a few,I'm watching my bait as I retrieve and I see it make these very quick movements,I thought I was hitting a few small stumps and branches, then I see this wide open mouth just slam the bait from the left, very aggressive lmb.
I've had some luck with frogs in the summer around the endless piles of logs and at the very south end, where the lillypads grow thick. Another spot from shore you might try,is just east of the WDFW launch. Take the trail and go past the fence, theirs plenty of logs you can walk on
and plenty of hiding fish,at least in the spring and summer. Just watch your footing.
Might even try taking a few worms,my 3 year old schooled me at caught tons of bluegills, perch, rockbass and a few small lmb.
Ohop can pretty good from the shore(Oroville Rd.) The water drops off a little faster and you can use deeper running cranks or pretty much anything for that matter, less things to snag on.
What color of topwater you throwin?
Black buzzbait, bullfrog Spook.

I've never thought of painting the blades. The double that I have is VERY noisy. I've only used it on Silver.
