Spencer,

Another I have had sucess on Kapowsin with is a carolina rigged lizard, make sure that bait is rigged weedless. Colors black, brown and greenpumpkin. You are going to occasionally break one off.... like that never happens in bass fishing. Don't worry it will move in and around those branches and logs just fine. To get distance on your casts peg the weight, this also lets you hold tension as you bring it through the cover to keep in from dropping down through a root wad or the like.
Peg the weight?

Spencer,

Pegging is accomplished by affixing a weight to the fishing line so that it cannot slide up or down the line; pegging is typically accomplished with a toothpick, rubber peg or strips of rubber. Okay so got the definition from the internet. Work smarter not harder I say. Hope this helps.
I believe the confusion was from the carolina rigging part. Usually a carolina rig is left unpegged so the line can move freely increasing sensitivity and decreasing the pressure a fish feels.
Good information Zackery ... think I got confused on that as well. Eventually I will learn some of this ... LOL.
