Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hi all new member here. My name is Larrick and I live in Whatcom County. Glad to be a member of this site. I love to fish for anything really but I mostly like bass fishing. I am not a professional by no means but I am not a noob either. I am looking for a local bass club and I am always looking for friends to fish with and have a good time. Would like to hear from everybody especially those in Whatcom County. I am looking forward to learning from yall and hopefully I'll see yall out on the lake.

Hi Larrick, welcome to WAFISH! I live in Skagit County. Like you, I have been bass fishing for a while now and I catch some nice fish from time to time but I definately am not a professional and I am nowhere near as good of an angler as many on this site. I am a member of Borderline Bassin Contenders in Bellingham. We are a fishing and hunting club. You should come to one of our meetings and say hi sometime! Borderline is a smaller club but the members are a great group of people and we have some great anglers in our club! I have 5 club tournaments (Terrell in March, Samish in May, Cavanaugh in June, Whatcom in July, and Campbell in September), 2 whatcom opens and a kids bluegill derby scheduled for Borderline next year. We also participate in the Washington State Bass Club Jamboree at Banks every year. The only caution I would advise with joining Borderline is that the tournaments are always set up to be fun and friendly. I really enjoy that but if you are looking for a super competitive atmosphere I would look elsewhere. The club tournaments are always a blast though and I think I have a killer schedule set up for next year! It's hard to go wrong though with the amazing fisheries in Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish county though as I am sure you are already well aware! Send me a PM if you want more info. on Borderline. We normally meet on the second Tuesday of every month but I don't think we have a meeting in December. I look forward to hearing from you more and I am sure I will see you on the water!
Hey David. Thanks for the reply. I have been trying to join Borderline for a while now. The webpage no longer works and about 30 minutes ago I tried to phone but now answer. I would love to become a member but I don't have a boat, yet. I added you as my first friend. Looking forward to cahtting with ya dude.
Yeah, the website has been abandoned. I will see about getting it removed as it is very misleading having it out there when it isn't being used or updated anymore. We now communicate through a facebook group page that we set up. You can find it by searching for "Borderline Bassin Contenders". I will get you the information you need about the club and feel free to ask about any questions that you may have.

Again thanks David. I just looked at your pics and you sure know how to get into some pigs.
Sup Larrick, welcome to the site. I live in B'ham. Good to see a member from Whatcom county. This is a great site and you can learn tons of stuff from this site. There some great sticks on this site. Welcome.
Hello Larrick,

Welcome to the site. I live in Whatcom County as well. I used to bass fish up here a little, but unfortunately, I never had much free time to fish and now I have essentially no time to fish. I sold my bass boat earlier this year to a much more worthy owner so it could actually get some use!

I do know the lakes in Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish Counties fairly well if you would ever be interested in some tips.

Take care and keep in touch,

Tag

Thanks all. Yeah unfortunately I don't own a boat. Plan to have one towards the end of 2011 or so. So my expirience has been 95% shore. But when I have been on a boat I have done well. Looking forward to learning alot here.
Welcome to the site! I am sure you will have no problems hitching a ride with one of the members on this site that live up north. There are a bunch of good guys on this site. A little word of wisdom for you though, when Tag offers advice on lakes in your area, by all means take it! He is widely known as a big bass kind of guy.
Welcome aboard...I'll have to get you out on Lake Wa. some day...Tag Watson offers a lot of info on lakes in your area as stated by others...keep in touch
Welcome Larrick. I am not exactly in your area as I am down in Seattle, but there are several good guys up your way. If you ever make it down here give me a shout and we'll hook up sometime. I am also a member of WBA a club that meets in Lynwood. Jordan Doucet who is the founder of this site is also our recently elected club president.
Welcome aboard! I'm quite a ways from you, and like you, I am not a professional bass angler, but do love to fish for bass. If you're ever in the Seattle/South King County area, let me know. I too am a shore bound angler, but there are still good opportunities at certain times when a boat isn't available.
Welcome, plenty of good folks on here and in your neighborhood.
