Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Just a FYI: for the guys on the east side of the mountains.

Johnny Walker, one of our own FLW Everstart series pros, will be putting on a seminar

at High Mountain Hunting Supplies in Wenatchee, March 26th.

He'll be sharing new finesse techniques and other helpful tips for beginner and experience bass anglers.

Show him and our favored sport support by getting the word out and showing up to see what he has to offer in experience and knowledge.

See you all there.

Quit beating around the bush and ask him to marry you already.

Thanks for the input Ron.

As I have always said you say positive things at the right time.

You are a good example of what bass fishing is all about. Wish you could be there. I understand you and Johnny, together, make for quite a pair of kick ass characters.

It would be fun to see the the two of you in action.

Zach,

When you get as aware and confident in your man hood as me... you can say whatever you want also.

FYI.  Attended the seminars that Johnny Walker did this past weekend.  Found them to be very informative.  Great info on finding fish different times of the year and how to put some twists on some baits I already use.

Thank you for taking the time to come over here and speak.  It's not everyday we get an informative bass fishing speaker to come to our little town.

Dave, and everyone else in Wenatchee,

Thanks for the big turn out and hospitality. It was truely a honor to have so many come out to listen and stick around for question and answer. I actually didn't even get lunch between seminars as many stayed around for both.

It was a great time, Mike and Dave at High Mountain are really nice guys. Look forward to working with them in the future. Mike had some great advice for the local waters over there also on where to go and what to use for those big Lake Trout. I looked around the store when I got a chance and they have a growing  assortment of bass tackle but I did notice they had a full line of one of my favorite brands for day in and day out Smallie fishing THE SNIPER LURES!

To sum up the event:

I think one of the biggest hits over there was the new colors that Panic Minnow just came out with... stickle back, smelt and smolt colors are awesome. I actually demo'd the ball head jig  technique I use with them and the Chelan angler's couldn't wait to try it out. I just think it's an awesome finesse Swimbait and I think they'll agree. I'm pretty sure I created some supply and demand for the Panic Minnow in Wenatchee. They just couldn't quit talking about it and the demo bags Brian gave me to hand out were a large hit.

I got to show some pretty cool finesse rigs I've been using over the last year with finesse worms and lead heads... From what I hear the Neko rigs going to be growing in popularity on the Lakes like chelan. Actually me and my guest for the weekend got to put it to test the next day on a local lake... IT CAN REALLY CATCH SOME TROUT I ASSURE YOU! I've been experimenting with smaller worms on the Neko rig and really I like the Mad Bass Worms for the super finesse Neko rig becasue they have a long lasting scent plus they really float well do to the air bubbles. I actually been using it also with the four inch stick baits and getting way more bites than with the larger senko style worms. To be honest though if the big bites is what you seek a 5 and 6 inche stick bait is hard to beat. I think the regular western style finesses worms are gonna be the ticket leading into the spawn on that side of the mountains this year though. Super slow right now but as the water warms you'll be able to speed it up.

Well Like I said great time and look forward to doing it again. Thanks everyone!

Wish I could make it out there Johnny! Would be great to see you, but Wenatchee to Cheney is a haul for right now.

you are a little late, it already happened

After a few days to get some feed back on Johnnys seminar I assessed the following.

Johnny was very well received and all that attended felt the info he provided was definitely worth the time to be there.

The High Mtn crowd took good care of him and provided a quality class room for his presentation. FYI: there will be more classes and seminars, in the future, being held at the same location. The facilities were top grade. Check out High Mtn web site for scheduling of upcoming events.

Johnny shared the Necco rig (sp) as a new concept and many are looking forward to giving it a try. JW shared other applications for using a senko styled bait and that info was regarded as one of the better tips. Johnny focused on largemouth applications mostly but did share a few tips on smallmouth. He really likes Sniper baits for the smalleys but did comment on how Mad Bass's Money worm and MAD Stix were great for the the Necco rigging. In addition, the Panic Minnow was introduced as an option for other uses and that bait was regarded as a wow factor. The crowd was really impressed and I am sure Mike @ High Mtn will be bringing in some very soon.

All in all it was a good event, Johnny was the great pro he is, new ideas were shared and well received.

Thanks to all that participated.

Thanks for the kind words and setting that up Bob... fun time!
