Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Hey Everyone,
My name is Billy Parker, and I'm new to the site "great site". Been fishing Bass about 5 years now. I was born and raised in Alabama, and came to WSU after high school. I graduated from WSU in 2004, and didn't wan't to leave the state. I found a job, and a great lady here on the Westside, and now reside in Puyallup. I work weekends, and have Wednesday and Thursday off. I was going to head over to the Tri-Cities this Wednesday with my brother in hopes of finding some giant smallmouth on beds. I ran into a guy this past Wednesday at Tapps who said I should fish the F-sloughs. He said it was a very popular spot, and if the fish were on Beds that was the place to be. I feel dumb in asking, but does anyone know where these sloughs are. I usually just fish the Yakima Delta, but I really wan't to give this a shot. Is there other sloughs that have spawners? Of course I'm not going to ask for tips without sharing some wealth, so if anyone is up on Tapps, all I can say is that there is tons of males on Beds, as the spawn is ending. Look for gravel/ docks combos in 3-8feet of water if it's not blowing. Most fish will run 1-2.5lbs. Thanks for your time!

I was up in that area today......and my advice is to not attempt to go up there unless you absolutely know what the heck you a re doing. 20 miles up River from Columbia Point. I would go to Potholes or Moses Lake or Scootney.
Jeff,
What kind of boat do you run? I was up there today also.

Billy,
The F-Sloughs are about the 3rd nastiest place on the whole river if you don't know what you're doing. There's a ton of current, rock bars, and gravel bars and you can get yourself in trouble very quickly. On top of that, the water level is always changing, along with the entrances and exits to the slough.
I was in the green triton with Josh Soggie. We saw you with your dog. He didn't out fish you did he?
Jeff,
I didn't know that was you or else I would have said hi. Did you find any beds in the back of that slough?

Red is so wound up I swear he's on point for 10 hours while we're fishing. If he could put a fishing pole in his paws he'd kick my ass. His concentration level is intense!
Hey Billy,

I would have to agree, the F-slough (Drift in slough) is the place to be, but I wouldn't risk it. Have someone take you your first time so you know the ropes and how to get in/out. It is very difficult and the water level has to be perfect. There are tons of other good areas around the F-slough, but the Reach is very dangerous so watch your electronics carefully. Again, it would be best if you had someone take you up there and show you the best route, which side of which island to go one, etc. Mebbe bring a handheld gps or steal someone else gps routes.

I am not typically a conspiracy theorist but a few things about Mr. Parker sound a little "fishy"

1-His recent appearance on this site and the proximity of the upcomong FLW Series event
2- He is from the south (Alabama) and came all the way out to liberalville to go to college and then stayed.
a) No self respecting southerner would allow their son anywhere near the left coast
b) No bass fisheman from the south would stay here after serving his sentence
3- His last name is Parker for goodness sakes....as in Hank Parker
4- I believe Hank Parker has a son named Billy

Billy if what you say is true and I am way off base then you are welcome here and the guy you need to talk to aboth the reach is Lloyd. Noone knows the reach around here better than Lloyd.
I also forgot to mention the fact that he has no picture attached to his name!

Potter,

Very sharp! I'm with you......suspicious.

Let the conspiracy theories begin.

boy....seems like Hank Parkers son did some research in order to sound legit......WSU.....Tapps.....Yakima Delta.....Puyallup.....

No one is going to bring up Puyallup unless they actually have been there.

Also...the dude says he's only bass fished for 5 years....therefore he didnt bass fish in Bama, since he moved here in about 2000 to go to WSU in order to graduate. So he stayed cause he didnt know what he was missing. And if you've ever been to Alabama....you'd stay here too. Mosquito's the size of teradactyls, and humidity that makes your genitals feel like a goeduck is trapped between your legs.

Any more theories Mattlock? hehe.
The guy can say anything he wants on a website but that doesn't make it true....it's cyberspace. Five minutes on this chatboard and you could have all of that "research" you just presented as evidence and more. I have never seen Lake Tapps before but I guaruntee that every SM bearing lake in this state has beds with males on them. It's then end of May. Hell most of the guys on this board know that Eric DeLay is a shape shifter and can turn into a woman riding a unicorn. That doesn't prove that you know him. If I were trying to gain local knowledge the last thing I would tell anyone is that I'm a tour pro and my dad is Hank Parker. It's going to take more than that to convince me. I'm not accusing anyone of anything here I'm just suspicious.

Is the F slough that big of secret? And isn't the tourney in July. I don't think there will be a lot of spawners in there then.

Like guys said that place can get really nasty... The current can get whipping though there, and there is one rapids you have to go through that is about 5 feet deep to get there. You can get stuck back in the sloughs too if the water drops. Moses Lake is a little safer of a bet.
The FLW tournament is June 24th and Moses is off limits for that event.
