Hey Dez that isn't the reason at all it wasn't but 5 years ago when there wasn't a boat givaway and the turn out was real good, in the 50's for boaters, it wasn't until guys got fed up of our Federation, poor leadership, lack of communication, unproffessionalism lead to the field dropping substantially. I am willing to bet alot of money if things don't change the fields will stay very low for much longer. I know a few guys didn't even get a call to go to Wyoming this year, they placed in the teens the year before, not going to mention names, Yet one if not 2 WA TBF board members fished the tournament which they had no right to do unless everyone that fished the qualifiers the year before refused to go. Things like that are dooming the TBF chances to ever have a legitimate chance of drawing any kind of numbers for coming events.
In this day and age guys are going to buy the best products out there right now the TBF which I am a proud member, is missing a few integral ingredients for a good product. There are so many other tournaments out there that are ran just as good if not way better. So why wouldn't someone buy that product instead of the TBF product. Maybe with new leadership from Larry Williams they can turn things around. Lets cross our fingers.
BigBass Dez said:Hey Ron , I think the biggest reason behind the # of boats for this year compared to prior years is the fact that there wasnt a boat giving away !! If all an angler has to do is fish three events and there name goes in a hat for a free boat , well thats more motivating than a $500-1000 cash prize give away IMO.. hard times man , less support , equals low turn out in # 's !!
Ronald Hobbs, Jr. said:Good Job Everyone. Aaron I think over half of the field of competitors were from the Hawg Hunters so don't get all wet when half the team is from your club. I was told it was like a glorified Hawg Hunter Club Tournament, with Larry running the show, even though he is not even the Tournament Director.
Were there not less than 25 boats? What happened to the good ol' days when there was 50-60 boats? None the less congrats to all who made the state team, regionals will be fun and who ever makes it to nationals is in for a treat!
I know he is still very active in yur guy's club, I was trying to get Aaron Fired up. I think Tom fishes more than anyone in the entire state. He fishes just about every single morning. To have the love like that for the sport is mind boggling and awesome, I don't think I could do it.

If not he should not be aloud to participate for the state team because it is in the by laws that only members in good standing can participate...... just joking and giving the Hawgs a bad time, good job fellas.
When Tom isnt in Texas he does drive over from Banks for every single meeting. He is a machine!
Great job to all that made the team!!! Sucks being first loser though.

Hey you can always cut Strasbaugh's brake lines and I can help you take Hoss down. Of course that would only make you the first alternate but Im sure we can mess with Tom or Kenny. Deal or no deal?
