Great Job Aaron for the huge bag!
Does anyone know why Shawn McConville came in at 1:00. I assume there was some kind of mechanical failure that forced the 2 hour early weigh in...

No they just caught all their fish early and did not upgrade anything for 6 hrs and said forget it.. We just had one of those days where everything went they way it was supposed two. We lost some big fish but were asking for it due to fishing such heavy cover.. We even caught a fish we broke off with the hook in his mouth still thats when you know everything is in your favor. Like I heard people talking we lost some big ones in the am on top water. They were short striking but it was exciting to see in the am.. those fish were riled up..
.....and how do you know if you are in an area you know?
The place is like a f-ing time warp, as EVERYTHING looks the same. I can't tell if I've been in an area last year, or 15 minutes ago!
Aaron Echternkamp said:The best thing you can do on potholes to learn, is get into the dunes and put your trolling motor down and don't pick it up if you do not know the area.. There are fish all over but do congregate in areas. this changes each year too..Just go out to that lake and look for a bank with a 45deg break and willows that run into the water..Pay attention to every fish you catch and what you caught him on.. example a dead will big bushy green one, floating dead ones etc.. then go look for more of the same stuff.

We ended up with only a little over 6lbs total. Caught about 30 dinks most are fish were on tubes. We prefished one day and explored some areas up in the shallow sand dune areas pitching to bushes and stuff but no luck. I wonder where the winners were fishing and what they were doing.
We haven't put our time in on that lake, and we didn't prefish, so we got what we deserved! Why the heck were the weights so much better this year? High water? Stable weather? Hot weather that warmed it up the days prior? Is it better in general this year?
That guy in 25th has an interesting name. I heard Wolsky has been asking around for his number.
So what you are saying is ...... you don't have a clue!
Josh Potter said:I don't really know why it was so much better than last year. I only got 4 bites in the one day I pre-fished but we got lots of bites during the tournament. The weather did stabalize leading up to it.
