Pictures of first time catches!

This is a off shoot of my other topic of pictures of our firsts in fishing!

Here is my first fish I had ever caught in Newport Shores. I caught it in June of 1999 my first year bass fishing tournaments I was 17.

Here is my first largemouth ever caught....it was on potholes during my first ever tournament which was a junior tournament i ended up winning that event to qualify for the BASS junior world championship.

First bass I ever caught. On a small once was private lake called No Wake lake my good friend used to care take. Fish was guarding a bed I actually caught it twice over a two day period.

This is a picture of the first Smallmouth my dad had ever caught. It was during the NWBass event in 2008. I wanted him to go out with me to share a day on the water and to see why I love tournament fishing so much. I put him to work with a white spinner bait all day figuring it didn't take much skill to just cast it and retrieve it. He snagged docks, laters, and even put one in a Cobalt tied to a dock while the owner moved his yard. It took a good chunk of the day before he got bit. At about 1:30, he hooked into the fish. He said he thought he had a big one, but I didn't think he realised how hard smallies pull. When he got it to the boat, my first thought when I saw it was "he got a carp on a spinner bait???" When I got a better look at it, I was shocked! Turns out, his first smally ever came to the scales at 5.84lbs. We where the first boat in due to trolling motor issues, and watched every bag come in nervously. When it was all said and done, he had the biggest fish of the tourny which won us nine hundred and something and a new Lamiglas. It is a day that we will both remember forever, and it is gonna be pretty tough for me to top that day as far as memorable days on the water goes.

Nice fish! I was in charge of the cleanup and renovation of the shoreline on that lake when the PUD took it over in 2002. I call it Burkett lake. That lake use to be awesome, and I fished the crud out of it. I've caught lots of good smallies and largies from there. I really pushed to get the PUD to make it a C&R lake, but my voice wasn't heard! Lots of illegal fishing practices have made that lake sink! Myself, and other's push hard for special enforcement on that lake, but there is only so much one Fish and Wildlife officer can do. The lake is usually really low right now, and the fishing used to peek at this time, but from what I've heard it's still flooded. I'll try to post some pics from that lake!
