Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

i guess this is where I can ask this question.  If it is not in the right area I apologize.

Does anyone know of a good place that can repair a prop.  Basically I just have some knicks on the edges of the blades.  Doesn't appear to be any real damage though.  Just wondering if anybody knows of  a place in Washington that does a good job with these things. If not, where would you recommend.  Also, any idea of costs to have this done?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks Cliff.  I saw that on BBC so it got me wondering if there is anybody more local that could do it.  I will check with Mark to see what he would charge.

Try the Prop shop. or Tacoma prop either one should be able to fix you up. the Prop shop is up north and does a good job I'ev had them repair one for me sometime ago.
I would recommend Mark Croxton also, but if you can get it done locally by all means.

I had the same questions recently and the Prop Shop here replied: To remove the dings and polish it up will be $125.00. If the blades are bent you are looking at $192.50. Hope that helps.

Wow. I called them yesterday to see what they had to say and he told me around $200 to remove dings.  I have a high five prop though so I wonder if having an extra blade makes that much difference in price.

I had a prop that needed a little fine tuning a few years back so I sent it to the prop shop.  It looked really smooth and shiny when it came back but the pitch was out of whack and the cup was gone.  The boat ran about 5 mph less than it did before.

I've heard that Phils Prop shop in Redding, CA does a great job.  I would give them a try.  I've heard that Mark Croxton is good too.  I would imagine it would cost you about $200 including shipping but your prop isn't something you want to skimp on.

As Chris and a few others mentioned mentioned Mark Croxton (317-398-9294) is one of the best in the nation. I had one prop done locally and threw it in the trash. I have had three props done by Mark and will go no where else .  Give him a call give him the particulars and he will hook you up.

Dave, don't mess around, send it to mark croxton.  He is extremely good, and the turn around time is excellent.  Once he has the prop in his shop, it usually gets turned around and back to you in 2 days.

Thanks for all the help guys.  Sounds to me like Mark Croxton is the way to go.

Just had my Yamaha prop done by Croxton - Blue Printed and it does make a difference-2 MPH better and faster hole shot.
How much did he charge you and how many blade prop do you have?

Hands Down Marks place is tops. I have had my prop sent back to him 3 times, all because of me of course. He does incredible work for a good price. I actually had a cracked blade and I didnt think it could be fixed but he did it.

Keep in mind when you get it back you may have to move your motor height up or down. I had to move it up close to an inch to get the chine walk out but my boat was faster.
