Just asking because of tourneys I have watched/heard of...
Mainly in the meaning of catching it and putting it in a livewell to bring to a weigh in.
I know the bassmaster guys are fishing for insane amounts of money but still, removing it longer to take a pic and weight makes me feel weird...
Are they putting them back on the beds afterward?

Im all for catching and whatnot, I guess what makes me feel bad is that ( I know depending on time and the fish) that your "ruining" its spawn. Or am I wrong?
If you pull a fish off a bed w/ eggs will it at some point spawn again the same year? What are the odds the fry will hatch or survive?
I would say that your question is probably more complicated that a yes no answer. Big picture wise I would guess that fisherman play a fairly small role in spawn success. Most tournaments aren't putting enough boats on a lake to have a big effect. A 30 boat tournament may only have 90 bass in a livewell at the end of the day. They probably move around another 90 fish culling. I wouldn't worry about taking a picture either. Just going over a bed with your boat may kick that fish off the bed just as long.
Keeping the fish off a bed is going to be worse for the fishery. I think again it just depends. If you went to some lake that doesn't get fished a lot and has a good number of fish, say the Snake river smallmouth I wouldn't really feel as bad as keeping a LM off Moses from a bed.
You should have seen all the empty beds I saw today. Not a tourny lake, but one that was heavily fishd this weekend by amature fishermen. I'm feeling a little sick tonight.
Was it Sawyer Aaron ?
If you catch a fish off a bed, I recommend to photo and release immediatly. No putting it in the livewell to get a end of the day picture, you'll do more harm then good doing that.
they were probably bluegill beds you twit.
