I love this lake but can never catch anything quality.
One of my favorite lakes but I usually find I do better there mid summer thru the fall.
Your gonna be at the tourny? Might be there too. I bet were gonna be the only ones fishing out of a alumaweld. haha Thanks for the info

Trust me, this is one of the best time of year to be on Riffe. I know that lake very well but not going to go too far in detail on what to do cuz I'll be at the open and then the TBF this year. Riffe lake is a great lake to exploit your strengths at. Tons of fish and it is usually good fishing. Most of the time you can get the fish to bite what you what. If you love cranking but lack light line skills then your still in the game and vice versa. With the lake being so low right now the fish could be schooled up tight on points and off shore stumps. Don't be surprised if you get some good ones in 10 feet of water and then 5 min later get some in 50 feet also. The water may be cold but you can usually find a good school by covering water with a chrome trap or spinnerbait. Kokanee are a prime forage in this reservoir so try to match them as best as you can. Swimbaits like Basstrix and led head swimmers work great this time of year (year round for that matter).

If all that fails, it's hard to beat a 1/2 oz football head with a twintail hoola grub on Riffe (297 or brown with purple flk) Stock up on the heads though, this is a lake of a million lost baits. Drop shot and shaky head work well too when the power fishing bite is off.
Man, just reading your post Craig makes me want to fish Riffe for the first time. Well done.
