If you break 2" from the tip, I am pretty sure that rod is done, there is no way of repairing that last two inches. Now if you still think the rod is still good without the last two inches then go out and buy a tip top and glue it on the stub, you don't have to take it to a repair shop, most likely that is what they would do for you anyways. You can get tip top just about any tackle shop.
