Tackle Tour just did a review and article about the G. Loomis Factory, I thought it was very well written and reassured myself my pride of owning mostly all Loomis Rods.

Nice I've been hearing a lot of guys in SW WA whining saying that all their rods are made overseas now but I guess this shows they probably are full of it.
I'm pumped for my GLX 894 to come.  It will be here in time for my Potholes trip :)
Reps and brand loyalist say what they want to make their products look better. Its like that in almost every industry. Ignore it. Plus, it doesn't matter where a loomis is made, its still better than anyting else.

Not to stir the pot, but if you're so hell bent on an American made rod, who is making the reels you use? Abu, Daiwa, Shimano? Isn't that contradictory? Just asking is all
Very american Ron, I feel the same way!

Well if there isn't any american reel makers that are any good......

No jerry.  Its not contradictory.  The post is about how proud he is to own american made rods, and to give Kudos to Loomis.   Did you notice he didnt give kudos to his Zillion reel?

Good topic! I've been thinking about this alot lately. I heard a piece on the radio the other day about how many iconic American products are no longer American made, and it was completely depressing! It's up to all of us to bring back "American made" Some times it costs a little more, or is less convenient, but the thought of where the road we're on now leads is truely scarry!
Thanks for that clarification Jake
This brings up a whole different subject. They did a piece on KOMO 4 news a bit ago about taking out every non American made product in someones house...they had pretty much nothing. Now what? I hear things like this from time to time from customers and how they bitch about foreign made products. I don't have a problem with anyone being proud of an American made anything...good on you. When you combine it with something foreign made..then what? Be proud yes...but don't bitch. Ron never bitched about anything and said he was proud of owning the rod. I give credit for that and was only asking...nothing more. Just wanted input. As for foreign made anything...it is what it is. Use it or don't.

Probably why they are such nice rods.  I only own a few loomis but heard they have a great warranty and take care of their customers too.

Troy Apple introduced me to them years ago.  On my first trip out with my brother in law I was in the process of telling him about Loomis rods and their sensitivity.  Right in the middle of the conversation I had a super slight bite.  Eric was looking right at the rod but did not see it move, but I told him one was there.  Set the hook and a 5 - 14 green was there.  I have more stories about Loomis rods as I'm sure many do.  I'm keeping my rod money local.
