Well I have started using the BCR 864 GLX.  It's the Senko rod, the 874 is the C-Rig rod, but I like the length of the 864 better and it's got a tip that handles the heavier weights nicely.

I was leaning towards either the Dobyn's 734C or the DX744.  I am already getting a DX744 and a DX 743 for my football head fishing, but I also want to upgrade my dragging rod.

WCCT, Dobyns has a new rod coming out its a Champion 804 C-rig rod you can watch this vid on Tackle Warehouse great for c-rig, swimbaits and light flippin check it out.

I'll say it again, the 7'6" Heavy, "Carolina Special" by Custom Angle Rods is specifically designed for working the C-rig.  Tried and tested on Lake Fork in 1998 it was the first non-telescopic 7'6" rod on the market for Carolina Rig fishing.

We have several really good C-Rig rods. The 764C is awesome, so is the DX 784C ML. We do have the new 804C C-Rig rod coming in Jan. I made this rod mainly for TX as they throw 6' to 7 1/2' leaders all the time. It's probably not necessary on the River with shorter leaders.  thanks for the question and business.

Gary, I take it you agree with either the 734C or DX744.  I appreciate you coming on to these boards and giving your advice.  I've seen you on another board and I think that is awesome.  This is the main reason why I am changing from Kistler to Dobyns.  Great service and great rods!

The 734C is our best rod as far as versatility and our best seller. It can not only C-Rig but it's my best spinnerbait rod, I made it originally for Super Spooks, great buzzbait rod, it's my grass trap rod, decent jig rod too.

The DX 744C is my best jig rod and i would say it's a better C-Rig rod as well. Both have great materials, the DX is better but ...how much does a guy really need?  What makes the DX better is the fact it's faster than the Champ 734. I purposily slowed the action down a bit on my 733 and 734 champs to make them a pair of great utility rods. They still rate out as a fast action rod. For a C-Rig rod, the 734 would be very good. The DX 744 would be best for C-Rig and jigs. Sorry for long explanation and call us anytime we can help.

Thanks for the run down on the different models.  I really appreciate it. Now I just have to make my mind up.  Have a merry Christmas!
