Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Mr. Hobbs made a great suggestion for a forum topic. Which bait(s) have you been chomping at the bit all winter to get wet this season?

I mentioned in Ron's recent blog that I am really looking forward to chucking the 13" MS Slammer Snake this Spring in hopes of fooling a big pre-spawn female or two. Another bait I can't wait to fish is a giant chunk currently being designed by Mr. Daniel Bavery. Coupled with a big mop skirt jig, this combination will be one hearty meal for a fat lady looking for some protein. When you get bit on this chunk, it will be the kind of fish you are looking for.

Looking forward to reading the responses.....

Well I was going to keep it quiet but I guess since everone else is tell I will. I will be thorwing my all time fav bait 1/8 oz Black/Chart/Orange Johnson Beetle Spin with a deep cup nickle colorado blade. Yep so that is it guys, now I dont want to see you buying them all up. Ok all kidding aside it will probably be swimbaits. Mission Fish.

Ron,
Thats a killer idea using the Silver Horde flasher bag for swimbaits. I imagine you save alot of space vs the large size Plano.

By the way, thats a sweet stock of swimmers.
I agree with Deuce, that is quite the swimbait storage system. Very slick.

TT's, 3:16's and more. Ron, you are ready to do battle......
DAMN!!! So I will trade ya for a day. One pair of Oakleys for one swimbait. But first can ya show me how to use it. I tried 6 lb mono on the last one....sure went far.

Where do you throw those and I would actually like to go out and see ya work them let me if ya got any time when that bite starts up.

I am really excited to use this bag and what lies within.....
Yeah I saw the bag it only cost $17.99 versus some of the other swimbait bagging system. I thought it was for Silver Horde Plugs not flashers though, I guess i've been out of the salmon trolling gang for a few years now.
The Eye Surrender system cost around $25 but I can fit twice as many baits in this one and also anything up to about 10", it saves alot of room in the boat.

Good looking baits, Chad. That hybrid grub/craw/beaver/creature looks juicy and will definitely make a nice jig trailer. The swimbait and scorpion look fishy as well.
That scorpion looks siiick Chad, what is it?

Nice RD Hobbs, I wonder who else in Washington has one lol.
Sweet lemme know how it works for you man - I've gotten a few hits but i havent really found the "right" way to use it yet. I've been doin so well with the wake jr I rarely bust the RD out.
