Personally I want to learn how to drop shot and I will force myself to learn how to jig fish.

I'm going to work on lifting into the boat, and backreeling.   I'd be more worried about presentation or fish behavior, but I'm pretty much perfect at all that stuff.  Pretty much all I need to work on is fish posture during picture time.

Seriously though....I'd really like to catch some largemouth on Jigs this spring.

I want to work on skipping under docks and drop shots, also mainly deep water fishing.
Im planning on working more on swimbaiting and increasing my ability with jigs mainly. I spent alot of last season working with the drop shot.
I want to put real dedication into swimbaits this year as well. What dropshot rod did you end up getting Austin?
Well i already had the lamiglas drop shot special 2 but i ended up going with a dobyns dx702 sf. But i picked up a swimbait rod this winter so thats why im gonna work on swimbaits this year.
Sweet. Hope to see some of your swimbait catch pics this season. Hopefully I don't snag a bird on accident, or have many close calls like last year.
I want to work on advanced jig fishing methods mostly with pitching jigs.  Also spend more time using the dropshot in pursuit of catching more fish so I can weight more limits in tournaments.  Going to spend some time with chatterbaits which are new to me.  Going to spend more time with a crankbait rod in my hand and try and gain some more experience shallow, mid, and deep cranking.  Also have invested a lot of money in walk the dog baits this winter with that being one of the techniques I am most excited to implement this coming summer.
I want to do alot of Jig fishing this spring at dock and standing timber and such. Also I would like to start using heavy rods, and big worms for dropshotting big large mouths.
PJ I like chatterbaits. I first used them this past November in a private pond and managed to catch some good ones on a cold day in cold water beating the bank. I've got Booyah Boogiebaits, Z Man's originals and Strike King Pure Poison. I gonna find out which one of thses I like the best.

I'm going to focus on learning to back reel.  It seems the guys in the know swear by it so why not give it a shot.  I am also going to do some more work with a crank bait this year.  It seem all I throw anymore as far as cranks go are lipless, so I am going to concentrate on deeper cranks.
I think I am gonna have to try the Phenix Vibrator Jig and the Zmans.  They both have great color options and look interesting.
The Phenix has bad snaps so replace them, but they are fish catching machines, also try out the Revenge Baits, they have some cool colors and they work just as well, I caught probably 50 smallies one day on the Columbia River with the Revenge Baits, the only problem was that the biggest was 2.5 pounds. I have caught largies up to 7 pounds on the phenix and I think the biggest on the Revenge was probably 5.
