Out here in Calif., some are starting with the umbrella rig and some are holding off for it to cool a bit more.
Have you started throwing one yet?
Maybe a ripbait?
Shotgun then a snowboard
I love your comment Joel! Cracked me up!

How about float tube and grenade
Mark good to see you on here! I've been off at school most of this year so haven't been on the site much. Thanks for supporting the Website though!
On topic:
You know Mark, I'm down in GA right now and haven't made one change yet! I was talking with Ron earlier about the conditions down here and it's a Fall thing going on for sure! You can just about go anywhere and just plan out catch fish. The only good thing about being stuck in GA!
Fish once a week where what you read about in books works... funny. See ya bro!
Out here in Calif., we are still experiencing warm weather and fall patterns too. In fact, it was close to 80 degrees most of this week. What do you think you will tie on first as the temps began to dip.
Once I get home...or if I was home...
Water temps around 60-50 degrees, I really start fishing the same baits I use during pre-spawn to Spawn transition. I'll still use some other baits but these will get more time as the weather cools.
I'd put good bit of time with the new 5" Panic Minnow swimbait. That thing just swims real nice and presents a good size meal for a chance at a big late Fall to early winter fish. I think back home the Smelt and Ghost Ayu colors will be hot. Fished both shallow and deep
Shallow wise once the rattle trap bite dies and the fish move outside of the grass to structure or line up on the outside of docks, I'll use the Phenix Swim Jig with attached Vibrating Blade, just ordered some heavier models to fish for largies a little deeper on their way out to deeper water. Hard to beat a Sniper Lures Trigger grub and Slim Trigger as a trailer. Back home this is effective on Trout and Bass... Green Pumpkin Jig and Green Pumpkin cooper trailers. If your around some big fish which I know you are Mark... you can trailer your jig with the density tackle 4.6" swim Minnow, it puts off a big profile and has a real erratic action even when slowly retrieved. Even though I don't target them I think the Walleye anglers are missing out if they don't give them a try.
Deep Diving Jerbaits I believe would be the next succssful lure but I don't do alot of Jerk baiting... I beat Marc M. kills them in late Fall on jerks...??? Do you Marc?
Once the winter pattern is established I'll use a Tube Jig and then Football Heads with Hula grubs which I use alot once winter hits. Once the water falls in the lower 50's there's probably no reason to use anything but a drop shot and Football head... I take that back, I have a new idea I'm gonna try but I'll update once I win some money off it!
Talk to you later Mark! To anyone who has been tracking... my new baby is now 5lbs and getting ready to be released from the NICU. We should be home by December!!!! Pardon the typos!
Thanks for the great info Johnny
Good news on your baby , we're happy things are improving
Thanks
Mark
