Thanks for putting on this great event. I had a lot of fun even with the freezing temps.

It was an insanely cold day, as you all know. I didn't think the fish would even bite. I didn't have much hope since the last time I fished this tournament, my partner and I only caught one bass, and it was much warmer. So this year, I have to hand it to my fishing partner, Jamie. He is one of the best fishermen I know.This was the first tournement we fished as a team. When we launched, my steering wouldn't work. I had to slam the steering wheel to break the ice. At one point, the trolling motor rope froze and I couldn't get the motor up. As for the fishing, we didn't do anything different from anyone else. We had a good draw and got to a "community" spot first thing. We caught two there and then moved to other spots that were similar and picked up a few here and there. We ended up catching 9 bass. One was about 1.5 pounds, the rest were over 3. We only lost one fish (on the first cast). We caught the fish from 45-60 feet of water on plastics (drop-shot, carolina rig and football heads). I think we were just lucky and hit spots when the fish decided to eat. I've never been in a boat that caught more than 3 fish in December. It was just one of those lucky days that you wish would happen. It finally did. Thanks Jordan for orgainzing this tournament.
