Action was great! I think we caught about 40 the first day, mostly on top water. Chris Rote and I fished together, Rich and Brandon together as well. Hono took Chris and me out the first day. I didn't catch much early on, using magnum flukes unweighted. It took me awhile to get the hang of fishing the lake. The water was very high, most of our fishing was around the tops of trees that would normally be exposed. Water hyacinths covered a large part of the lake, and changed the topography almost hourly. Hono seemed pretty good. His daughter was our cook. I don't know how many fish we caught total, but it seemed when Rich and Brandon's action was scarce, ours was booming, and vice versa. There were no nets out the first day, and hardly any sign of any other anglers. I'm planning to go back this coming November.
Rich Pratt put a gun to my head and forced me to go to El Salto with him. I retaliated by catching several 8's, 7's, even a 10! Most productive: Strike King Sexy Dog, Red Eye, River2Sea bubble walker. Hono rocks!
Esa es una hermosa lobina, Joe! Tell us the story!
