Thanks, guys! Went to Lake Baccarac. Fished El Salto in '01, '02, '03, '04 and '05 but hadn't made it back to Mexico to go bass fishing until last month.

There was a major storm as we were arriving that lasted through the first day. The post-front, muddy water conditions made the fishing pretty challenging. Tried 10XD crankbaits, a myriad of swimbaits, lipless crankbaits, a variety of topwaters, umbrella rigs, heavy spinnerbaits and several different plastics presentations. The only consistent pattern I found for big fish during the post front conditions was slowly twitching a Magnum Fluke in Baby Bass, colored completely with a chartreuse Spike It Marker to make it visible in the dirty water, fished 8-12 feet down over 20-50 water on slow tapering main lake points. Not the most exciting pattern, but it was the best way I found to catch the 7-10 pounders.

On the last afternoon, we had another large tropical storm come in and the suspended fish we had located started to turn on and were susceptible to more aggressive presentations. Caught big fish on 1 oz. chartreuse/white spinnerbaits, a Hiroshima Customs Gillrilla swimbait and umbrella rigs. Shortly after catching the 50+ lb. limit in a little over an hour, I lost a 14-15 pounder on an umbrella rig. She came up twice and then hung me in a submerged tree. The chandelier with several large hooks swinging around is bad news when a big fish takes you into timber. ..Would have grinded on her harder with the reel had I known there was bad news brush in that area. Was a bummer to lose her but I guess that's what keeps you coming back....

Nice.  I love that they have that different color.  Light green, orange, brown, et...What sort of baits were hot?  Plastics?  or Hard baits?  Looks like El Salto?
