Tiger Musky Minimum size limit for WA State

Just a reminder for all those fisherman new to tiger musky fishing - the minimum size limit is 50 inches.  All others are strictly catch and release.  Please see Cascade Musky Association at www.cascademusky.com or look at the WA State fishing regulations.  Please spread the word.  The fish are very fragile, they take a lot of money to raise and stock, and they are sterile and don't reproduce naturally.

Although the information has gained more traction than a few years ago,it's still pretty amazing and scary how many people are unaware of such rules, not just with tigers but in all aspects of fishing. Still a long road ahead of informing the general public but well worth it.

People also need to understand that keeping a fish to "mount" it in this day and age is unacceptable. Take your pictures, size the fish up and release it. Then get a replica mount. It will last a lot longer and you don't have to kill the fish. Hang it on your wall and tell your buddies of your awesome catch. It will give you the same satisfaction as a real fish mount.

Right on Chad, but it's the people like us on this site who understand fishing and the rules who need to help spread the word and enforce the regulations so everyone enjoys a better fishery.

It's not just musky, it happens all the time with bass. I've forced people to release bass in the slot that they planned on keeping. The problem is, it's not the people on this site that are the naive ones.

Great Reminder Craig.

Way too many muskies being kept by naïve fishermen. Read the regs guys. This sport has rules just like football or baseball. And these rules need to be followed.
