NOPE! not in my own boat at least.

the only way i can see someone doing that is a big money tourny in a boat that is just flat out given to you and you know you will be getting another handed to you the next year with no questions asked..

i have seen some brush crashing at potholes and tri cities before but nothing close to that extreme.

Hell Yeah! As a good friend of mine would say Blaze Backwater getting there is half the fun!  Hang out at Potholes and you'll have some fun like this but most guys don't have the guts or they don't wanna get their shiny boat dirty or scratched.  Granted I have an aluminum boat so I don't really care and neither do my friends, but if I had to get a glass boat I would still have a boat just for this type of fishing.  I encourage you all to stay away from backwater places like this the fishing is mediocre at best...

I agree with Joel on this one!  I will stick to my open water smallmouth fishing before you will catch me doing that!!  At least until my boat is paid off.  I am a giant wuss when it comes to motoring through sketchy water in my own boat!  I think if given the option I would even take 5 foot rollers on the river over plowing through trees like that! I couldn't even get myself to go through the brush on Potholes on plane last spring..haha!

I wanna hear what Taggy has to say about this video , he and i have had some good coversations in regards to going places on the lake that others wouldnt dare go ..

I would be down for getting in that thick nasty stuff , but i have a big fear of snakes and the way i see it your just asking for a 4ft moccasin to come along for a ride .. Mark can tell ya how a day with snakes in boats effects my fishing ability..lmao

 Just the thought of a Mocassin on a boat makes me chuckel. My wife is deathly afraid of spiders and when the boat gets to close to branches with webs she is heading out the other side of the boat LOL.

don't get me wrong i have ran or pushed my boat and my partners boat thru some stuff where i'm taking some huge chances and yes gone brush busting to a limited amount.. but for the fun fishing and the amount of tourny fishing we do isn't worth what the damage or the loss of value in what the trade in will be once i want to replace it.

now if i was fishing more seriously or wanting to be that competitive in the bigger circuits and could justify the end results of catching compaired to damage and wear on boat then i would do it.

but for me i'm not in that place to take those chances...

i'll run my boat in some nasty stuff but to do it knowing i'm damaging is different then could damage it..LOL

Did I miss something on this video? I read the posts before I watched the video, I thought the video was going to be awesome. It was a bore and I sat waiting for it to get better, I was hoping he would just run top speed trhough that stuff. None of that stuff would ever hurt your boat, It was way to small, and it was soft wood not hard wood, it was still alive and green so it flexes and bends around your boat and since its not rigid its not going to gouge anything. If you did get a few scuffs they would be easy to buff out. Trees and stumps are way worse on your boat than bushes.

 

What am I saying ? Never mind guys never try that with your own boats it is very damaging and stupid!

I was hoping that they were at least doing it to get to a good fishin' hole.....but it appeared they were just doing it to make a youtube video. Which, I agree, was boring, and seemingly pointless. I found myself wondering if this was just someone who stole a boat and went joyriding.
