Broke the tip (2") off one rod. Is there a place near Seattle that does quick repairs? I used to take mine to custom rod shops, but have not seen any around. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Theres a guy close to Fort Lewis that does custom rods and repairs. Nick Barr knows him, he did a speech at a WBC meeting. I have his card at home but maybe Nick will come around and give you his #.
Daryl Snodgrass also builds rods and probably could do the repair.

So nothing really in Seattle... the closest sounds like featha styx - but they have a store in Kirkland, which is closer.
If you break 2" from the tip, I am pretty sure that rod is done, there is no way of repairing that last two inches. Now if you still think the rod is still good without the last two inches then go out and buy a tip top and glue it on the stub, you don't have to take it to a repair shop, most likely that is what they would do for you anyways. You can get tip top just about any tackle shop.
My Shimano 6'6" Compre is now a 6'4" and has pinpoint dock skipping accuracy. The only issue I have with the replacement tip is that it is HUGE compared to the rest of the guides. Oh well, it was replaced for free. I still like the rod though.

I just broke the tip off of a Shimano Crucial jerkbait rod. I sent it back to the factory in 6 peices to make the shipping easier. I put a note with my phone number, no explanation,I expected a call from them asking what happened. It was broken and useless to me so I figured I had nothing to lose. A week later a rod tube showed up at my office with a brand new rod. I don't have any idea if they have a policy regarding certain models or not but that was my experience.
I tend to side with Ron on this one. Do not try to repair the tip. As you know the last 2" is the most sensitive part of the rod. Some claim to be able to repair the tip but once that tip is broken....it will probably never be able to give you the tingling feeling that it once had. If the fracture had occured further down on the shaft i may advise you to seek a repair.
However, do not throw that shaft away....you may be able to use it down the road sometime.

In your case Lloyd the last 2 inches is probably the whole thing.
Didn't they call that thing The Pocket Fisherman?
