Congrats on your teams win!  Hopefully, Puyallup was close enough behind you guys that you will remember us next year.

I fell out of the point race last March, but thank goodness that you put the tournament on the opening weekend of both modern firearm deer opener and the waterfowl opener, or I would not be fishing.  I actually was not planning on fishing until our club needed another volunteer.

So you see your own downfall will be the sceduling of your event. I also know why there is no off limits, this help does not benefit the teams from Olympia or Puyallup for that matter, we don't want to drive up there in 2 hours of traffic to fish all day and drive home in 2 hours of traffic. This no off limits just is there to try to equalize the playing field from the boys who know how to fish from the South, and the boys that are TRYING to fish from the North.

I hope you do weigh the same as me, to me this will be a victory in my mind, This will be only the 3rd time I have fished Lake Sammamish in October/September, the previous 2 times were the previous years tournaments.  As far as time on the water you have me beat hands down, there is something to be said for skill not just hard work, this is why Evergreen will win, you will cancel me out then Evergreens 4 other teams won't just cancel your other 4 teams out but the will destroy them.

Willie Parsons our club President will be in the top 5 for individual weights even though he is newer to the sport he is a quick learner and a very hard worker I think last year his team weighed the most for our team, Phil Johnson has won boats in NW Bass, and is our perenial AOY winner, he is our team powerhouse and has the skill and know how, to kick everyones butt. I know Jeff Abbott is fishing, another 2 time NW Bass Championship winner, his record on the water speaks for itself, and then there is me, I am not the greatest but I usually can scrap something together on that lake.  I didn't mention any of our other club members names because they are our secret weapons.  As with every team to be sucessfull it takes some players to be good but it takes all the players to be great.  Evergreen falls into the category of a little better than GREAT!

I am just wondering if the Hawg Hunters are going to show up this year? Does anyone know if they have participated in the last 2 years??

Gosh Ron, it's amazing you have time to fit in club tournaments amongst all the other stuff you do. How are you looking in the points standings this year?

I just think that the clubs from the south are just better at catching fish at lake sammamish then the clubs that are closer. Just look at the last two years results, CCBC and Evergreen 1st and 2nd both years. While some clubs are dreaming, CCBC and Evergreen are DOING!
And congrats to Gerold Dunn and Ryan Gates on their overall win.  Great job guys!!!  Not only beat everyone, but by about 3 pounds!
Big thanks to Jordan and the Washington Bass Association for putting on a great event! 8 clubs, 40 boats, and a great raffle afterwards. Thanks to all the sponsors as well, there was some good stuff up for grabs.

Thanks Jordan, and WBA. Paying just two spots was a great idea! Infact next year, consider paying only the top club! Great Job John Mark, and Derek for your limit of smallies. Considering that was only your second time on the lake, and you had one of the few limits speaks volumes of how good you guys are! It's gonna be another great Christmas party this year for Evergreen!

BTW that was one nice buck laying dead on the side of the road, anyone claim it yet?
Ditto! That was a nice bag! That must have felt great on a tough day like today.

Another great event and another great win by Evergreen Bass Club! The anchor for our team was a couple newer members new to bass fishing, also only the second time on the lake, all this and they still managed to bring in Evergreens biggest bag of just over 10.5 pounds, Remember these names because I am sure they will be anchors for Evergreen in years to come, John Mark Minica and Derek!

That being said I will let the other clubs in on how we have won 2 out of 3 events. The first thing is that Evergreen has great fisherman but more importantly is how open everyone is to sharing and helping people catch more bass. All information is shared, spots, techniques, lures, depth, species, when, and how.  There are no secrets amongst club members, no one is out for their ownselves and leaves other in the dark, one common goal is on our clubs mind, "we are the best club, so lets prove it!" we are the ultimate TEAM.

This is felt through out our club and is not only how Evergreen conducts themselves at this tournament but all tournaments. Club tournaments everyone shares knowledge and know how so that everyone can catch the biggest and most fish that they can.  If another club member asks what someone is doing to catch fish, they tell them exactly, no embellishing no misleading information, like I said everything is out on the table.  Here is the kicker though, even though spots are shared, it doesn't mean the other member we shared it with is going to jump any holes, it is quite the opposite, and this speaks volumes about the quality of people that are members of Evergreen Bass club.  There is not a whole lot of other clubs that trade in the over competitive spirit for the spirit of just having fun! You know the saying 2 heads are better than one, then think of how much you can learn when you have a whole club of heads!

As everyone knows I am a proud members of Evergreen Bass Club, and think that no matter the outcome of any events Evergreen will always come out winners, Evergreen is not only a club, but a great group of people and a great group of friends that get together atleast once a month to enjoy some mexican food and hit the lake in a not too overcompetitive atmoshpere!

Good job to Evergreen as well.  It would suck to have one team blow away other single teams but can't take home a  club win. Good jog to those guys that caught those beautiful fish, hopefully they can help there other members next year, in order to take home the "W".

I know Curtis broke off a giant in your boat and I broke off a big 'un in Jim's boat, (both over 4) we would've really got 'em, but that is the great thing, we always have next year to learn for our mistakes.

I learned to not be so lazy and respool my reels, and Curtis learned to use heavier line. and you learned how to catch big Largemouth on Sammamish!  Good thing is that those fish will be waiting for us next year!!

Well put!

Actually Derek Eggiman is the name to remember. This guy has stepped up his game month in and month out, and he was the one who executed the game plan out there. I'm sure you folks will be seeing him real soon in local series, and eventually on the national stage.
One more thing, Evergreen is always open to new members, so if you want to be part of this awsome thing we've got going on, contact Ron, or Willie, or myself. (sorry for the shameless plug...)

Not much chatter from the lesser clubs! Was Capitol City there this year? What happened to the rest of the Hawg Hunters? Evergreen's annual Christmas party this year will be at the Space Needle with an open bar. We will be selling raffle tickets for $25. We will draw 4 tickets, and if your ticket is drawn you will be allowed to attend. Our speakers will be John Mark Minica, and Derek Eggiman. The topic will be "Putting the Hammer down on the Northend." They will talk about how they put a hurtin on eveyone with only one previous day on the most pressured lake in the state. Derek will go into detail on why he chose Evergreen over all the other clubs in his backyard "Bothell". Contact Willie for ticket information

I must have missed something? I do recall being there, unfortanatley i was only able to catch 2.Had the bites but wasnt able to get to boat. Gerald and Ryan had 5 weighing almost 17lbs and Jaymee Strasbaugh had a limit over 10lbs.What did John and Mark do that was so amazeing? For those that were able to Catch 5 congrats ,it was a tough bite for most. Puyallup did alot better then our last place finish in 2010 so i think a second is an improvement. And like Ron said ,there is next year for all of us to correct our mistakes and hopefully do better.

I tip my hat to Evergreen and to the Hawg Hunter team that brought in 16lbs.  I have got to say that fishing Sammamish once a year is always a humbling experience.  The guys that caught limits did really well. I look forward to this event every year because its very fun and the concept just makes for good competition.  Watch out...Someday I'll wake up and catch a fish on Lake Sammamish!
