TFO Gary Loomis Tactical rods

I have not tried the Tactical but do own a 7'6" TFO GL Signature Series. Got it through BPS and am very impressed with it. Blank is light and sensitive, good backbone and tip is just right for skipping jigs. Only thing I dont like is placement of hook keeper ( I removed it ) and not exposed blank at reel seat, but the Tactical has exposed blank seat so should be even lighter and more sensitive. I would buy another TFO.

I haven't tried the tactical series yet. But I've got a 7ft mh signature series.. It's sensitive and light.. It has a esposed reel seat tho.. I plan on buying some of the tactical series..

Correction...TFO is out of Dallas, North Fork Composites is Gary's local company.

North Fork composites was building the blanks for the Homewater series of Fetha Styx, and from what I've seen they are very nice rods, but they come at a price!  Gary Loomis seems to be all over the map right now with his blank building.  This company TFO seems interesting.

The price point, with a lifetime warantee, and the Gary stamp of approval, interesting indeed. His name does seem to be the gold standard in this industry.

While TFO is hdq out of Dallas, The Gary Loomis signature series rods are made in Korea

I was trying to track down that information via their website, but it didn't say where they were made...that sucks....I wont be buying any of those!

What part of the rod? Are the blanks made in Korea or are the rods just assembled in Korea, or all the above.   Is Korea the new "Hot Spot" for premium blanks, Dobyns, is another I am also pretty sure alot of Daiwa's stuff is Korean, Who do we have left?  G. Loomis, Lamiglas, St. Croix, any others that the blanks are made in the USA, plus assembled here?

North Fork Composites is the only other major American blank maker that I know of. I know they supply some smaller rod companies that assemble rods in the USA. Other than that, I am still researching this subject. With reels, we're down to only one American manufacturer of fresh water reels, Ardent. But from all I have read lately, the Ardent reels are very good quality, and very durable. All my future new reel purchases will be Ardent, unless someone else steps up with some American made reels.

Hey John.. I have to ardent reels one a xs1000 and the other is a c400.the xs100 is there top of the line reel.. I had problems with it since day one now is broke.. And ardents customer service sucks they don't answer emails....Sent 27 emails no replays..the c400 is just as bad... I paid like 140.00 I would sell it for 40... LOL...

I love  my Ardent XS-600, I've had it 3 seasons! I did have one small problem with the push button, but I sent it to an authorized repair center in Texas, and the problem was taken care of. I didn't pay a dime for parts or shipping.
