What is the best deep cycle battery out there? One of my 3 trojans kicked the bucket and I was wondering if any one had opinions on the best deep cycle battery.

opnima blue top expensive but nice.

I have experienced top performance and longevity with the Optima Blue Tops - as Glen suggested.  They are available, or used to be, at Costco.

deka agm

I would recommend the Sears PM-1 or the Deka AGM (Seamate) for the cranking battery/electronics/livewells, etc.  You're looking for a group 31 battery with the CCA and reserve capacity that these batteries provide.  Sears has a 3 year warranty on their PM-1's, so that's pretty hard to beat.  The Cabela's AGM's are another option.

For the TM, I would get the biggest reserve capacity, group 31's you can.  Trojans fit that description.  Some guys go with the Walmart Maxx group 29's for the simple reason that it's always easy to find a Walmart if you have a warranty return.

My experience is that if I have one battery go bad, the others aren't far behind, but maybe you've been staggering your purchases of these so that isn't the case.

This question was asked some time ago, you probably want to take a look at that thread, because theres a lot of information that will be of value.
