So far we have 20 boats fishing the TBF qualifiers 6 more than last year and that in it self is a positive in my opinion. Was really hoping to see more like 25-30 boats but hey its a start. After seeing who is involved for this years qualifiers I agree that in 2014 all these events should be placed on the west side. Yes 2013 atleast we will have two on the west side.

As Chad put it yes we have options on the 206 side and plenty of them. As gas gets higher in price I would like to see more in our own backyard and that I believe should be our goal for future years if we don't see more participation from the east.

Thanks for jumping in Russ! I know your in a tough spot, and thank you and the other officers for doing what you do. I know I can be harsh at times. You know I want the best for the WSBF just as much as you. I look forward to contributing more than just my voice down the road after my daughters grow older. Honestly I thought the participation would be higher this year. This is my first year fishing these, and I can't wait to put my co-angler on a second place bag this weekend! See everyone in the cANALs!

So we have 14 of the 20 boats accounted for. Who is all coming from WBA? Any other clubs?

Too many tournament circuits competing for the same weekends.  You can't take a small base of potential anglers like we have in the state of Washington and divide them up that many different ways and expect a good turnout/participation.  I would think all groups and circuits would benefit from better coordination and/or merging or events and circuits.

Honestly the "Federations" have always had a bit of a problem because some people would like smaller turnouts as that favors their chances for advancement.  Not everyone, but it is a competing and dissenting aspect of how the federation groups operate - let's call a spade a spade.  What you end up with is a group of well-connected anglers in the "know" who jump through the hoops nec. to find a club, a non-boater, or know that they can buy-in.  Meanwhile FLW is wanting to use the TBF as a vehicle to grow the sport, increase participation and sales of Ranger boats and other sponsor products.  So you have this big gap between how TBF is being utilized and what the intention of it is.

I don't think you want to marginalize TBF any further by making it a "westside" only circuit.  Like Aaron mentioned, the biggest problem you have with getting boats at these events is that guys can't be two places at once.

Having been involved in WSBF meetings for years I know for a fact the scheduling has always been done to try to attract a wide range of anglers and not to try to cater to any one group. Washington has a great variety of lakes and anglers, a schedule that has variety is intended to allow the best, most versatile anglers to succede and make a strong WSBF Team for Divisionals. As a westside angler I enjoy having some tournaments scheduled away from our everyday waters to add challenge and diversity. I am in favor of an inclusive schedule that encourages all WA anglers, of all skill levels to come and compete.

WBA Members Participating this year are:

  • Jordan Doucet (Boater)
  • Ron langley (Non-Boater)
  • Tony LoFranco (Boater)
  • Keith Brooks (Non-Boater)

I want to fish got a non boater can I buy in?? Or is it too late ?

Aaron,

First you have to be a member of a TBF affiliated club. You also have to register with TBF and FLW tomorrow with a Non-Boater of the same status. Entry fee for 2012 is $300 plus late fee. There will be a fine of $50 for late fee each since the deadline was on the 15th. If all these are met by tomorrow you can fish the series.

Someone must of just told him the divsional was at Potholes next year! There goes all my hopes and dreams....

Lol no I have known all about where they were going to be ;) but for some reason thought all the tourn were two day qualifiers like the other. I can still go fish tri cities on Sunday and be good.

Sorry Chad , Yea i had a chat with aaron over on banks about fishing the TBF . Regardless of where the divionals are being held aaron still needs to make top 10 through the qualifers , fish on :)
