Washington Fishing

The Online Source for Washington Fishing Information

Is anyone planning on attending this event, or has anyone heard what they are expecting the attendance to be? Who all is going?

A couple other questions about the Tourney, what is the payout break ratio for this event?

1 in 5?

Anyone like catching big fish, the lake is going to fish so awesome everyone should just throw there extra $50 bucks in the kitty and come fish this event if you are on the fence, I personally would like to see more $250 entrants but just show up and show some support.  After seeing what the fish were doing last weekend I am going to say with the weather pattern wer arte going to get this week that this Saturday will be the absolute best fishing day for qty. and qlty. that you will see all year on this lake.  Its going to be fun to be a part of along as you're not the weigh master!

Help! New spots needed asap~

Looking forward to running this event guys, we're really hoping to have at least 40 boats to show corporate that it is worth investing their money up here. I would encourage anyone that's on the fence to come and get in the $50 entry and $10 for big fish that will pay a guaranteed $1,000! And for those of you that had a good weekend last weekend, or are feeling gutsy, the $250 entry will be awesome as well.

To answer your question Ron, we're thinking a 1 in 5 payout for both divisions - again, we are paying out 100% of the entry fees taken in. PLUS there will be tons of baits and schwag being handed out not just in the morning, but also during the event as usual!

I think it is cool that the Winner of last weeks tournament at Washington is recruiting more entries for THIS weeks tournament on Washington.....and asking them to get in the options.  It is almost like Roy is trying to count his winnings already.....lol.  I have to admit that I admire the subliminal method....

I will throw my 2 cents worth in on this topic as an East sider.  Other guys have posted on another similar thread also about this and I will agree with their combined thoughts.....Gas prices are high...for both the tow vehicle and the boat.  3-4 hours travel time one way  to Lk Washington for me....which makes it difficult and expensive to pre-fish....and get famliar with the Lake.  Also, someone that is unfamiliar with the Seattle area, has issues with motels, traffic, and other stuff over there that the local guys may know more about.  There aren't very many East side guys that know that Lake really well and can bank on getting a check to re coup expenses.  Putting a dull pencil to it....roughly, $4.20 gal.....it is easlily over $100 ...for the tow vehicle.....motel....$100 night..( x2) .....$100 for the boat (x2).....plus food ( $100)...Launching $20 a day.

That is for 2 days of pre-fishing ....could be $500-$600.

Then comes tournament time.....another 300-400....plus entry fees and options for Ron....around $300.

I am not trying to be precise here, but all told it could be around $1000 out of pocket .  Also, for me...it would mean taking time off work and lost wages.  It is pretty easy to not travel to Seattle for me.  I understand that it is expensive for all of the West side guys to travel over here where the Sun shines too.

There are more Lakes and the River over here....that are easier and cheaper to fish for us East siders.

I respect the NW Bass guys and gals.....I think it is the best trail in the Northwest by far.  Gary needs to look at participation and make decisions as a result of it.  I don't know what the percentage breakdown is of Anglers in the NW bass between East and West side guys, but in the years that I was participating, most of the Tournaments were on the Eastern side and the boat numbers were high....up to 110 boats one year.  The Economy has a large portion of the blame in this as we all know.

Jeff

I agree Ron, Sat should be outstanding fishing.  Hopefully there will be local support this weekend....

By the way, I plan on taking money from you and Mike's family.

Plan on fishing it. I agree the fishing is going to be nuts. Cant see myself fishing anywhere else this weekend. Hoping to find some of the right fish and bring em to the scales.

Congrats on the impressive bag Hobbs/Wolsky. That was no joke. Not going to be suprised to see a bag like that again this weekend with a big fish around the same size.

Robert and I will be there and in for $250.  Should be fun!  In my case I would lean closer to not thinking straight rather than feeling gutsy as being the reason to choose the $250 entry but we will give them hell regardless!

I am pretty upset since this will be year 3 where I have a unavoidable work conflict that prevents me from fishing this.  I too hope that this awesome event draws 40+ boats!

So I was dumb and assumed we were in for $250 before actually talking it over with who I was fishing with.  Robert and I will only be buying into the $50 entry but we will be there!  Can't wait!! Sorry for the misleading post before!

call in sick friday night you wienie! ;)

Jeff- this is a thread about the Berkley Tournament not Northwest Bass, also there are 2 levels of competition this year, one being the elite level ($250)the other being entry level ($50) The elite entrants do not compete agianst the entry level contestants for the prize but they do compete for big fish option ($10) So I am trying to get more guys to come out in either division, but I would suggest the $50 entry level, just to come show your support and have a great time.  This event is always phenomenal.

I think my donation from last weekend was generous enough; therefore, I'm only getting in the beginner pot for $50! I'm glad I microchipped that sow Mike caught, so I know I'm walking away with at least 1g :)
