My favorite in this state. Fishing can be great on both smallies & largies. No launch left at Tum Tum, need to go down lake to the DNR campground, a few miles up from the dam. I have 8 fish over 6lbs, all but 1 has come from this lake.
There are also 2 launches at the upper end of the lake in the State Park. I personally would launch at either of those 2 rather than drive all the way to the DNR launch. In my opinion most of the best fishng is way up river from the DNR launch. This is also one of my all-time favorite lakes. The LM fishing can be spectacular. Some might say the SM fishing is as well. I tend to fish for LM when I'm there because it is so good but you can catch a 20+ pound bag of SM when it's good. I haven't been on the lake since July and have never really fished it this time of year but you should enjoy the trip. It is incredibly diverse.
A couple of my buddies claimed to have absolutley roped the SM out there a couple of weeks ago on swimbaits along the many weedlines. The lake is loaded with bait fish and the fish seem to want to be shallow most of the time. I'm sure you can probably catch them any way you would like.

He has been accused of many actions when it comes to goats but never a roaper.

Mike Bess the goat roper? I heard he has them named and doesn't have to rope them anymore.
