Had the insert on a guide fall out on a Shimano rod. From what I can find online it seems like the consensus is to just replace the guide vs trying to replace the insert. Anybody around Seattle do this?

Ceramic inserts can not be effectively re-inserted.  The entire guide will need to be replaced.  There should be someone in the Seattle area in the rod repair business.  I suggest you check with your favorite tackle store.  They should know someone.  Shimano uses several different types of guides and a professional rod repair buisness should have what you need.

If you take it to 3 Rivers Marine they can get that taken care of for you.

I just took one of my rods to Limit Out Marine to have it repaired, it also had a ceramic insert that shreaded my line.Looking forward to getting it back.

Thanks, I just gave them a call.
