Anybody want to recommend some hard jerkbaits that wont' get a guy divorced if he wanted to buy 5 or 10 of em?  What alternatives are out there?

I lost an LC pointer this weekend in some rocks, and had to gather myself before getting back on the trolling motor.

No just in the last 3 days!! Oh yes I did just say it.

Yeah mustache compititions need to happen more often. I only wish i could grow more than three hairs above my upper lip.

There should be an option pot in tourneys for best mustache, I think that Berto would always be in the top 5 with his stalker/petter-ass stash.  But Russ would always win, nobody grows a dick duster like that guy.

The mustache is making a comeback!  Maybe I will have to rock the stache again, it is quite simpy SICK!

never heard that one - funny

Ronald maybe you should take Taylor up on the date thing. Think about it, in your genes you two could produce a really good angler and make it ok to be a happy bass fisherman !

Maybe you're available and you can teach me how to catch a fish? I seem to have forgotten over the years.

You two should get married! :-)

I still think quality baits that have better color options like LC, Megabass, or ZIP catch fish better than Rapala or Smithwick in alot of situations. The problem is, to really match what the fish want you need a large color selection in alot of different depths etc etc. However, buying one bait that catches more fish is a better option than two that catch fewer fish obviously...and you won't lose em anymore cause you nows have a lure retriever. :-)

You two love birds both make good points though!

I think the line about him not getting a divorce should have clued you in on looking for cheaper alternatives, like I stated you have problems with your reading comprehension!

Last time i check the thread said "Quality" Jerkbaits not nameed L.C.  !! Excuse me if i offended the those Smithwick jerkbait users ,too bad get over it !! secondly i never said that rapalas dont catch bass , i just stated the reasons that i dont use them over others ..

Did anyone read Snakes complete thread? I am sure he was asking about cheaper alternatives. Dez recomends megabass even though they cost $10 more than a L.C. I am pretty sure he doesn't know how to read though, his second suggestion makes more sense, then Russ recomends the squad minnow which is the same price and another lure that has been discontinued and when they are found are expensive, he third statement is totally on point. I just thought I would point this out.

Are you guys talking about the Rapala Husky jerks or are you talking about the Rapala X-Rap's, I have caught fish on both versions and used to tear them up when the husky jerks first came out.  Still  Suspending rogues have been around for a long time and work great as well.

Hey weird question but what  site is bbc? I tried a search and got an English TV provider and a whole lot of porn.... searching for BBC on Google can be an interesting experience and not one id care to undertake again

 Bass boat Central

Ah, ok. Thanks

Ken,

Ok I'll admit I didn't read every line of every post so if someone already mention the Luck-E-Strike "Rick Clunn"  RC STX baits, they run in the $7-$8 range, and are clearly modeled after the Mega-bass vision 110.  I bought a handful and have caught some smallies on them but do not contribute considerable amounts of time to fishing jerk baits.  The quality is surprisingly nice. Sticky hooks, and have not seen any chipping.

Have caught quite a few fish on the rc stix. Good bait. Just bought 1 lot of 4 also from BBC $23 shipped
I bought a few of the RC STX jerkbaits when they first came out because I was curious if they were actually able to successfully copy the Megabass Vision 110. As I suspected, like most things in life, you get what you pay for. The consistency was very poor, the baits either suspended (or sank) tail down, the action was subpar, etc. Based on my observation, the only thing they successfully knocked off was the profile and coloration. I got rid of them immediately after seeing them in the water. No doubt they'll catch some fish, but unless you get that extrememly lucky bait that suspends properly and has an action similar to the Megabass, I am 100% convinced there is no possible way it will produce as well. No offense to any Luck-E-Strike fans. Just keeping it real and these are only my opinions. My recommendation: pony up the $ for the Megabass if you are serious about jerkbait fishing.
