I don''t think it would pass inspection. It is a 14' 1959 texas, it doesn't have a livewell, and We only have a 4 horse motor...

Ben Holten fished this boat in the Nixon's Marine Open on Moses Lake......

I for one was impressed by his fortitude!

What kind of boat is that?
Bass Pro sells a chest livewell system that would be fine...might have lighting issues and a kill switch......probable the lowest insurance around!!
You have to ask the tournament director what the rules are. You can purchase an aeriator at Wal Mart and put it in a cooler. I have never had a problem with loosing fish. Most tournaments only require you to have a life vest an an aeriated place to put fish. Some require a kill switch, but may overlook it if you have a small boat. Some tournaments require consoled boats and such. I would try to get in on some club tournaments. Check out the WDFW list of lakes that are having tournaments and try to contact the clubs that are having tournaments on waters you want to fish.
small boats are great man i fish out of mine it large lakes whatcom american sammamish and so on i was in the middle of trying to start a small boats club in skagit valley and dont let the big boats scare you outa the water
I have been in clubs where the guys who had 14 foot tin boats beat all the guys with big glass rigs.
Ben let me used his boat for a tournament the central club at potholes. I loved it the ariator he had in the cooler worked great.
