So does anyone have any of these yet?  What, how or where could you use these baits, it seems to me it would be a niche bait, but what applications would you guys use these for? Which lakes would you use them? Why would you use them over a regular jig?

I see great potential with this bait. It would greatly depend on how much swim action it has while being jigged. Looks to have great "dying fish", easy prey characteristics. I think it could be practical in any bass fishery as well as Muskie/pike. I know they love an easy meal!! Never tried this bait but it definitely merits a cast or two. IMO
Interesting, I'd try them in a couple lakes I know have good blue gill populations and dirty water. I'd work em through lily pads as a wounded bait fish tryin to get off the bottom.....I have a couple blue gill swim baits I've caught a few fish on but I prefer a regular jig with a crawtail for jigging......I'm sure some of the better fisherman around hear will have better ideas but thats my first impression on seeing this bait.
yea I dont see it ever replacing a real jig and trailer, but it might be a fun novelty bait, and it might even pay off.....
I read an article on it not too long ago where Keith Combs won a PAA event using it as an alternative to a jig while fishing docks that had already been hammered by a bunch of anglers. http://blog.wired2fish.com/blog/bid/42802/Combs-Talks-Fishing-Docks...

You'll notice that he went right back to the jig though the next day. It looks like it would skip really well, but you can also skip a jig pretty fair if you've got a decent sized trailer on it. I'm sure I will buy some and try them out, but they'll probably sit in the box after a couple runs.
I agree with ya, they look so good I want someone to talk me into buying a couple, but i need some pursuasion.

I wonder if someone got suckered into buying one how much time would they invest in using it before they just said screw it and tied on a Jig/swim jig.I will opt out on this purchase but maybe that means I will never catch the quality it can bring as Im sure not many lakes have seen this bait.
I don't know enough about this bait to weigh an opinion of any value. I do REALLY like the color that it is displayed in on the image you provided though! I bet it would work sometime if you got it in that color no matter how good of a lure it is! As people have been stating, I bet it would be tough to throw this enough to gain the confidence necessary to do well with it.
Ron,

you've given me alot of advice so I feel I should give you some here. I'm not sure if you knew this, but Bass like to eat baits that look like prey. Do you think this bait looks like prey? If so, then you will undoubtedly catch fish on it, and therefore you should invest. My question, is whats the difference between pitching that thing, and dead sticking a swimbait?
already sent mine back after testing
I think it would make either a good Christmas tree ornament or stocking stuffer!!!
Pat,

Assuming you didn't catch anything on it, what specific qualities did you not like about it? Is the head weighted or a harder plastic? Does it sink quickly or does it glide in the water, and float or sink slowly. Does the tail actually kick?

I like the concept, but I wonder if the same application can't be achieved with other more realisitic baits that have peeked my interest (and I have not tried, like a Little Creepers trash fish or Sebile soft bodied perch) hooked through the side with a weighted or unweighted wide gap hook.

Ron, if I were ordering something from Tackle Warehouse anyway, I would have them throw a pack in because it will make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas.

the head is weighted (lead)
there is NO kick whatsoever
on a tight line it wobbles to the bottom
on a slack line in spirals
there is no glide to them either
they just don't do anything special, when the hit the bottom they lay flat
for $20 plus they just aren't worth it in my opinion, showed them to my wife and he dind't think much of them either
