if a 5 lber wins so what? It was still a competition and the biggest fish won.
The Big Bass Blast's on Lake Washington were awesome! Im sure Roy, and his dad feel the same way... like I've stated in a previous post a while back, I would fully support such an event.

The last one I remember was on May 15th 2004. I believe Ron Hobbs Sr. won it and Jr. came in second. I do not remember who put it on. If I remember right one of the local radio stations co-sponsored the event and did a fair amount of on air advertising about it. After some further research I did find a post on Gamefish.com relating to it. here is a copy of it.
5/15/2004 - Brian - Washington Lake, King County, WA
Fished the Big Bass Blast today. My first time to fish this and the
first time to be on Lake Washington in a month. I ended up cacthing 2
fish one was 2.96 and the second was 3.28. That was enough to get me
a decent standing. I wasnt going to fish then a buddy wanted me to
fish it with him so I did. I wasnt to sure of how the rules worked in
this set up. It is unlike any other tournament that I have ever been
to. I had a great time and anyone who wants to start tournament
fishing this is the place to start. Lots of prizes and money given
out. A great person and fishermen won the event with a 6 something
large mouth. Ron Hobbs Sr. and Jr. did very well. Sr. won it and Jr.,
was second. Good job guys. My fish all came in water about 8 feet
deep of a drop shot with a sniper snub (brown and black flake) and a
white senko. Total amount of fish for the day was 6 or 7. I only
weighed in the 2 and 3 lber. Good luck to you all.
Dave Massey said:So when was the last time somebody put on an event like this? Second, who is it that put these on? I was out of the bass fishing world for several years, that is up until 2007, and I don't ever recall hearing about events like these. Like Marc says, marketing the event so more people knew about it would make a huge difference in the turnout.
