I am having a hard time keeping my boat dry during this wet time of year since I don't have access to covered storage and don't have room for a portable carport type cover. Right now, I have the cover on, with compartment doors up so water runs off. On the inside I have one of the DryAir (http://www.savvyboater.com/p-48-drywave-boat-air-dryer.aspx) heaters inside the cover, but there still seems to be a good amount of moisture.

Any thoughts?

It may not be what you want to do but investing in a better cover may help. I got a fairly heavy duty cover when I bought my boat as part of the deal and have had no problems with moisture. The cover would have been 600 dollars had I bought it seperately. Sorry I don't know what kind of material it is made of but it keeps rain out but still allows the boat to "breath" underneath. It's tough keeping a boat outside around here. Good luck.
I'm in the same boat Jordan. That thing is sitting outside and I am going to put the cover on and a really heavy duty tarp. I try hard to elevate the cover off the deck and prevent pooling at all costs. Looking into a carport at some point, but it will be awkward where I have the boat parked.
Im not sure how this product will work for a soaked boat but it works well for damp conditions and should help some what

So you have experience with this Daniel? It does a good job with condensation and humidity?

A guy I know does, PJ. He said it was definitely worth the money. I know he keeps his boat outdoors but I don't remember him talking about how well it works in extreme conditions like this weekend. It was over a year ago when he started using it so its seen some rainy days I'm sure.
I garage my boat, but when I owned my previous boat, I got a couple of those rocks at the pet store that you use for iguanas. I daisy chained a few together and left those on all winter. I coupled that with one of those deals at Home Depot that you poor obsorbant crystals in and empty it every so often. Last, but not least, if we ever hit one of those really sunny late January, early February days, I'd take the over off and let it breathe.
Hope this helps a little.

Jordan,

I've been using the Dry-Z-Air containers with crystals for the past two years and they have worked great.

The crystals are about $1.50 per pack.

Just have to check the containers every month or so and drain out the water, replenish crystals. The containers were full of water after the warm humid spell we had a couple weeks back, but the boat interior was completely dry.

I have two of the containers with trays , one under each console. No mold or mildew problems.
Jordan,

Call me. Limit Out will be offering covered storage very soon.

Sounds like a combo of the bilge wizard and the Dry Z air crystal pots is what I'll put in the boat.
Jordan,

I use two similar dryers. One under the drivers console and the other towards the back of the front deck. I've found that adding the second one really made a difference.
Jordan, I run two of the exact models you have in your link. I also use them in my truck camper as well and they work very well! I put both of mine down on the floor one under the console of the passenger side, and the other about a foot away or so under the driver side. Like Sparky mentioned, I created a makeshift support to try to keep the cover up off the front deck to keep the water from pooling, and that makes a ton of difference! Also, I can't recall what the brand is or where I purchased from, but I have these two bags of crystals, that I leave right in my rod lockers. The bags are like a canvas material and they suck up moisture and once they get saturated and hard, you are can put them in the oven for a bit, and then they can be used over again, they seem to help keep the mold and mildew down in those lockers. Give me a call if you have any questions I can help with.
