Used it as a trailer on Phenix vibrating jigs; it worked well in this case.

I've used it on chatterbaits and I like the big one with a weighted hook.  Also works good on a dropshot.

I have been using them a few years.  The Live magic Shad has great action and if rigged weightless or with a small pencil weight...they are great deadstick bait.  When it is twitched or retrieved a bit, it resembles an injured bait fish really well.  

 

I also have used them on a chatterbait and even on a spinnerbait with a trimmed skirt or no skirt at all.  My opinion is that the bigger ones have more visible action than the smaller versions

Magic Shad or Live Magic Shad?

 

As for the magic shad, I would rather use a normal fluke bait.

 

The others I think are referring to the live magic shad, which is a great chatterbait trailer as stated, it is also a great drop shot flip bait, it can be hard to find the right hook for the fat upper section before the first hinge.

I discovered this bait last year and started sharing them with some club members and fishing partners. The cat is out of the bag! Like most are saying, 3.5 on a drop shot or chatterbait. You can experiment with larger sizes and to each their own. Drop swimming has worked well at the appropriate time. I understand they are making a new 2 1/4" inch version that will be launched this year and I look forward to trying it as well.

LOL perch and bream! They are about as big as my pinky nail, I've seen them they are tiny!
